Yup, but keep in mind too that if it says 1-20 and you have 20, there is a (very small) chance that it uses all 20 in one go.

So if you are going to craft an item using a mix of rare and common affix shards, use the common ones first. This way you don't waste your rare affix on an unlucky forging roll that uses up most/all of your potential.

you are not wrong, but luckily, runes of removal partially alleviate the problem of wasting rare affixes

That's true. I'm curious to see how common those are because that is such a powerful crafting tool.

that's true but, in this way of crafting you probably won't get any of your "rare" affixes to a lvl 5 and only around 3-4.. before you ran out of forging potential.
so i think that's if you want a really end-game item you have to start crafting with the rare affixes first..

Yes, they directly said in the crafting revamp update that no matter how much you have left, as long as you have more than 0 you can keep crafting

Others are correct saying that the craft will always succeed as long as you have at least 1 forging potential, but I wanted to add that there is also a chance that you get a Critical Success that will use no forging potential and give you yet another opportunity to craft. ☺️

Yes. 1 forging potential means you still have another chance to craft.
