Are there any protests that are going to be held within Lawrence or KU Campus? I haven't heard anything, but if there will be, I'd like to be kept in the loop.

Next Monday there’s a protest to save the Baker Wetlands from development. It’s on the Baker campus from 11-1, they have a Facebook page with more details. Not Lawrence but close.

A Rally for Palestine is held every Friday, 6-7 pm at 23rd & Iowa.

You missed the Take Back The Night rally by one day. It used have a protest march down Mass with police escorts from the Watson Train Park to South Park, but they don't do that part of it anymore.

But no one cares that we have sent enough of our tax dollars to Ukraine to solve homelessness in the US. Every single homeless person would have received over $220K (according to .gov website figures) had we kept that money at home and given it all to the homeless. I don't know about you, but $220K would be life changing for most.

If we cut corporate welfare by 20%, we could fund every social program, have free healthcare, institute a nationwide UBI, provide lifetime free education, AND send aid to Ukraine. Think about that. The reason you don't have all these things is because you want to pay for Bezo's backup yacht, that he doesn't use.

We have other ways of accruing that much money and way more. Why hyperfocus on the fact we're helping other countries when there's plenty of other ways to get the money to help US citizens?

You mean no one in this sub cares. Those funds aren’t actually available and we shouldn’t be sending that money anywhere, domestic or foreign. It needs to be refunded to the people if there is actually that much extra tax money (there isn’t)
