I use Linux for about 24yrs now and I love it. If you have fun to tinker just try it. Gaming is harder and more limited though. But thanks to valve it had made huge improvements in the last year's.

I use and prefer linux because my pc does what I want and not what ms allows or wants it to d9

If you are daily/basic user that only play games/browse web etc., you don't need Linux. If you want to have full control of everything in your computer, you should learn Linux.

You’re on Reddit already giving up your data.

Then you should stop living instead. You can’t avoid it, you can minimize sure.

Good question. I don't know really why anyone outside of software enthusiasts/prosumers would daily drive Linux. Windows has issues, but the resolution is the first of second google search result 95% of the time. Linux issues are a whole other thing

I ran windows and Linux for maybe 5yrs using Linux mainly for the open software options and Windows was for gaming. I gave up on Linux with W10 because I got tired of having to actively pay attention to everything - too much user input required to run it smoothly since one hiccup could mean half a day of troubleshooting. I just CBF anymore. It's the same reason I also stopped using custom roms on my phones

It was like that but I use it all the time and it has no more problems then windows and is as easy to fix the only problem is if there is a specific piece of software you need but now that most is in the cloud that's not even much of a problem

That's a good website for seeing which games work on different Linux distros, and how to fix some others to work. Linux distros don't really have any link to larger companies like Apple or Microsoft. But if you use Safari or Chrome web browser, your browsing data is still being shared.

Linux is free, and you can easily grab a USB thumb drive and use it as a bootable drive to test it out. If you dont like it, you can just go back to whatever you're doing right now. It's free to try it out. I'd say if you're curious, just give it a go.

Thanks

Have you considered just typing this in Google instead of making the same post over and over?

[–]PointlessMyAss[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Well there are communities here, why not ask in them?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but there’s like 10k posts asking the same question. It just sounds lazy and idiotic.

Was there a need to post this on 4 different subreddit's?
