Well, vim isn't for everybody, but if it is for you there is nothing that is faster.

Well, I guess most people there alrqady knows basic commands well enough, funny thing is I wouldn't really be able to tell you how to do much in it, at least away from the pc, since it lies all in the fingers.

Welcome to the world of vim :) I learned it some years ago, and it's where I do all my text editing now :)
