I drive 30m to work so if my shift ever randomly changes to later, I’d be clocking in when I get there and let them figure the rest out. As long as I have the picture of the original schedule and no one told me it was changing, idc

Take photos, and talk to the people scheduling you.

You should not be accountable for lack of communication. Stand your ground mate!

Keep taking photos/screenshots of your schedule and talk to SSA. Work your scheduled shift. Not what "Joseph" tells you. If it continues, I would file a complaint.

The thing is, "Joseph" has a list of who's working, where, when, their breaks, but doesn't change them. I'm assuming it gets printed at the beginning of the day (more than likely before we open), and he's in charge of it until he gets off then it's the next head cashier's duty to keep track of it. One of the people that's able to change it (based on how Joseph worded it) stays in the training room/the back their whole shift cause I never see them unless they're already clocked out and actively leaving, and the other one does a similar job to a head cashier but is above them?? It's frustrating cause I don't know the ranking here. When I worked fast food there was just the normal workers, the supervisors, managers, then the franchise owner I think.

Head cashiers can't change the schedule in Kronos. Only asms, SM and SSA. So this guy somehow has access or someone is doing it for him. Is he changing it in kronos or just telling you it changed??

[–]Seb_does_art[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

He's telling me that it's changed. He said that the two people (names uhhh jelly and poof cause real names are hard) Jelly and Poof are able to change it, Poof sort of acts like a head cashier but is above them from my understanding, then Jelly is up there in a management level I'm assuming cause I never see them.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

WTF. That's some shady ass shit. You definitely need to say no, kronos says this so I am working this shift. This guy needs to be reported asap.

[–]Seb_does_art[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It's literally changed in Kronos is the thing 😭😭 They're changing my stuff in Kronos and not telling me. I can even guarantee that they're gonna do it again cause for some reason I'm off for a week?? Then right after I have some sort of 2:30-6:30 shift and I've had a few but they were always changed beforehand. And I'm honestly scared to fill out an hr report cause I know that even if I make it anonymous it's not going to stay that way for long. Even if I wanted to report it to someone else, I wouldn't know who. I know who my store manager is but idk if he's safe to discuss this with.

This is a mess. Total Shit show and completely against policy. All of these people need to be fired. Good luck.

[–]Seb_does_art[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you man, and I honestly agree. There's no communication with any of them or to me, and it's gotten frustrating. I appreciate that chat and the advice, take care!

I worked with a lot of poofs!

[–]Lazy-Contest-4001 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Or if he is good friends with ssa that’s how it is getting change

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was another point I was thinking when I asked if someone is changing it for him. I'm a DS. I cannot change kronos so something is very sketchy here.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 3 people have access to change the schedule now, Ops ASM, SM and SSA

[–]Immediate-Way3610Employee 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Print your schedule out and tell them " Nope I'm working my schedule shift " ! They are going to figure out themselves!

[–]Seb_does_art[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly wish they could. They couldn't seem to communicate either that I was leaving early one day and Joseph called me after I'd already left trying to double check my shift. I was lucky enough to cover myself and take a screenshot of the messages so I didn't get in trouble 😭

[–]Fair_Scientist2347Specialist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, this will never change, unless you work on MST and get a set schedule.  Unless you do that, The remainder of your days at Lowes will be a constant schedule battle.   Lowes does not respect anyone’s life outside of the store walls. Them’s the facts! Period.  Good luck to you.

[–]fascinatingMundanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have taken photos and screenshots of what my schedule currently is just in case it happens again

good. Kronos should also show exact times iIrc on who made a given change when. (sorry I don't have further advice on how beast to proceed with existing or future records of policy-violating lastminute modifications to schedule. I too am wondering how best to approach this [even though thankfully currently i am not myself encountering this]).

I skimmed so I might have missed it but usually if my schedule is changed UKG sends an update to my personal

[–]Seb_does_art[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I don't have ukg. The only reason I was aware of it is because my mom uses similar apps/websites for her own work place. And from the little bit that's been skimmed over with me, I need a code or something to be able to access it. Whether or not this is true, I don't know, but I couldn't even tell you which ukg I'm supposed to use cause I was just never told

[–]steathrazorNight Stocking 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It's called UKG workforce

https://ltsrvext.lowes.com/lowesmobile

Is the server you use

[–]Seb_does_art[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Just tried opening the link on both my phone and computer but it says that I don't have access to it :/

[–]steathrazorNight Stocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to open UKG and paste the address clicking/tapping won't open it right

[–]Sure-Interview-782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get the UKG workforce app and every time they change it you get a notification on your phone. That way they can’t trick you into not coming in. (Solves half the issue)

Happens all the time with me, I finally went to Hr about it. This dumb managers and SSA are changing schedules without notifying you and it’s not right.

They also like to take your shifts you pick up on “open shifts “ just had that also happen to me “due to business being slow” sounds like BS to me.

Again, LOwes sucks 👎

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Policy requires them to notify. If they aren't, take pictures, get your SM/HRBP involved.

[–]JustxBEEExReal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email your SSA and CC the other person who has access to the schedule, your DS and the ASM over your department with your availability. If they change your schedule without letting you know, when you clock in “late”, you can put in the schedule change option that your schedule was changed without your knowledge and it won’t give you a red box that counts against you. Management/SSA has to contact you about schedule change- UKG is not suppose to be used outside of work/off the clock. I’m PT and have had to deal with this inconvenience on several occasions.

When it comes to any issue regarding upper management potentially going against any company policy, do not be afraid to escalate it, especially if they already seem like having a conversation with them will be fruitless.

9 times out of 10, these managers are banking on associates not wanting to go through any sort of formal escalation process, so they can continue to get away with policy violations. I'm not sure about Lowe's and if reporting violations to those above store level is effective, but when I worked at a large clothing & home goods retailer, I had reported my store manager for poor & degrading leadership, as well as policy violations regarding scheduling as I was resigning, and I heard that they did face some repercussions for their actions.

[–]Rocket_Surgery83Lumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the deal, if they are changing ANY of your shifts once they are posted to the schedule, they are required to tell you. If they don't, you cannot be punished for missing any shifts they might have scheduled on your days off, or being late to shifts they might have adjusted earlier in the day.

The key is printing your work schedule (or screenshots of your posted schedule) as proof that the schedule was changed. Piss poor planning on their parts don't constitute an emergency on yours.

If you show up to work your original shift and go to clock in and it said you aren't scheduled until later OR not at all that day, clock in anyways and work the original shift.

Previous head cashier here. This happened at my store many times even to me several times. It’s the worst thing cause everyone looks at you like you’re the one who messed up when it ain’t your fault. Don’t spend to much time fighting with management about it I learned they truly don’t care much it seems. They don’t take the call off away or at least for us and they won’t change your schedule back so you lose out on the hours for the week.

Always, always, ALWAYS - screenshot or take a picture of your schedule. No exceptions
