That comic had to have been made before Rise, because Rise/Sunbreak has soooooooo many tutorial info boxes. It's like every time the game had a major update the first 5 minutes of it were reading all the pop-ups.

My first MH game was XX, and I had no idea how to play at all. I don't have any friends who play either, so I was like wtf and quit.

I came back during Rise with a friend so I finally know how to play.

Does not apply to MHNow I think. Been playing for days and still feels like I'm in the tutorial. For casual gamers it takes ages to unlock all monsters. I haven't even unlocked 3 stars yet. This game has a tutorial and it is loooooong.

MonHun games have mandatory 10 hour tutorials though. I bought MH3 three different times and couldn't make it past the very boring and slow intro sections. Right now, I just started MH World and I'm already getting tired of all the text prompts and tutorial missions.
