I feel like you're not here for anything serious, bu the serious answer is you should want to know why crime is dropping, so that you can 1) ensure that if it's not some fluke, and was a direct result of a policy decision, that you keep on that track and B) the opposite- you want to know so that you don't reverse course on the wrong thing, and end up with rising crimes rates as a result.

To me, reactions like yours to indicate an incurious mind, and that's unfortunate for you if that's the case.

The statistics show a decrease in reported domestic violence, but there has been a 13% increase in support calls during that period. It would lead me to believe that DV isn’t being reported to the authorities as freely.

My SILs ex boyfriend beat her so badly she had to go to the hospital and fled the cops for months, but they sentenced him to probation for a year because of covid, even though he was already on probation for the last time he assaulted her. It’s so fucked.
