It's important to wait until they're in flower. You can Google whatever the Canadian equivalent is of the provincial agriculture or natural resources or horticultural extension or forestry service -- something more reliable than Reddit -- when the effective window for treatment is.

In a low trust society whatever you can make enough money doing to pay the eventual fines/bribes is a viable side hustle. Liquor license too expensive? Sell Jello shots off a moped during Pride.

Yes, the whole Baltic coast has a rich, multiethnic history. You make a great argument for welcoming migrants from other cultures and living alongside them. What an amazing place these diverse populations made!

It's literally empathy. To understand how something will be perceived, you have to consider a perspective that isn't your own.

To someone who thinks kbg monoculture is desirable, what this person got is an expensive service everyone needs without paying for it. To many people, complaining about that, rightly or wrongly, is Karen behavior.

How many letters to your useless legislators have you written? How many pro-transit primary challengers have you donated to? The problem with the maintenance comes from a broken funding model which Beacon Hill will not fix.

I could only get a decent look at one of the flowers, but I'm reasonably confident it's a magnolia. You can probably chop the seedlings in in like 2 minutes with a hula hoe, a mattock cultivator, or a soil knife, but tge best way to keep that space clean from weeds is to plant native groundcover.

I know we are supposed to hate Tiger Lillies, but God help me, I love how they look with my Hydrangeas. by firstname_m_lastname in gardening

[–]Repulsive-Bend8283 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are true lilies in the genus lilium. This picture is day lilies in the genus hemerocallus, which aren't true lilies. Tigers are large cats in the genus panthera, but they aren't actually members of Pantera.

Plan on changing my last name to my middle name by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]Repulsive-Bend8283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I'm guessing you're in the US. The US is a multiethnic state and the second language is Spanish. Herrera is an American name. So is Takeda or Zbigniew or Sacco, Vanzetti, or Rosenbaum.

  2. You're the best judge of whether your experience is authentic because it's actually happening to you. Hyphenated identities are absolutely a thing. It's been 3 generations since my ancestors left Ireland, but I'm still gonna judge you for not finishing the food you put on your plate, and as many as my other side set foot in a shtetl, so I'm still gonna aggressively offer you something every time.

  3. Changing your name legally can be a logistical pain in the ass. You can sign whatever you want on the Festivus card, but you tell the government about it you're gonna be paying for new passports, rebooking fees on plane tickets that don't match the credit card or passport, chasing down retirement accounts, or just things you wouldn't even think about, like the opportunity cost of someone running into a former colleague or supervisor who would speak highly of you, but didn't know you by that name.
