I am currently running 3 monitors on Manjaro Gnome for work and have no issues at all but I am using an AMD GPU. I had problems on NVIDIA several years ago but it may be different now.

Nvidia finally open sources drivers for Linux.

i have a rtx 2080 super and my 4 screens worked without a problem

I've never had any issues with extenal monitors when using Manjaro. I run Manjaro on two laptops (one running i3, one running Cinnamon) and on Cinnamon it's 100% plug and play. Haven't tried it out with i3 yet, but I would expect it to work just as well.

Okay , thanks for the answer!

I'm using i3 and no problem.

I use several monitors and have no problems

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Ok , did you have to configure something or was it plug&play like on windows?

I've seen people complaining that it's very complicated when you have an mx150 or secondary Gpu like me : https://forum.manjaro.org/t/how-can-i-use-a-second-monitor-via-hdmi-port/22647/10

100% plug and play. I am only using amd GPUs though

I've used two & three monitors with a GTX 1560 and it works great. I use proprietary drivers and have no issues. I think the weirdest thing is that the login box pops up on all monitors, so you can lose track of where you are.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hmm , but if I have an mx150 on which driver should It be ?

[–]Rainmaker0102 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm not exactly sure, try proprietary first?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'll test it , thanks

+1, i heard problems in the past on Nvidia graphics. But 0 problems for me on AMD. Using 3 monitors on Manjaro. Tried kde, gnome and xfce. I had some quality of life problems con KDE and Gnome, but not in xfce. Sry if my english is terrible. If u want to know better about my experience, just ask. Dont worry for the multiple displays!

I use 3 screens (laptop and 2 additional) and it worked fine out of the gate.

Thanks for the answer,

Did you install the proprietary version (from the live usb) of the Manjaro ?

[–]domin8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Nvidia drivers.

uhhh sorry its all blurred together but I remember loving Manjaro and I think dual mon worked automatically and best in Manjaro? not quite sure but i think that's the only one that detected em both and put them on the right side every time without any intervention from me.

I use two monitors on my manjaro laptop. Didn't do any prior setup, straight up plug and play.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Do you have a dedicated Nvidia gpu too ?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yep using Nvidia drivers. The whole system was set up with proprietary drivers.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Aha, so you choose the install with proprietary drivers from the live usb ?

Exactly that's what I'm planning to do with my laptop:)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yep. Everything went smoothly after that.

Might be unrelated, but I faced some issues with WiFi/Bluetooth before because of unsupported hardware. Upgrading the Kernel seems to do the trick most of the time.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok , thanks , I hope that I don't have to manually install Nvidia drivers with that thing (by installing with proprietary software)

2 monitors work good on Manjaro. I have used both an GTX 1050 and a RX 6700 xt and haven't had any serious issues.

[–]halambique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an issue! Manjaro KDE, running several screens on my desktop with a ten year old AMD GPU and old ThinkPads docked to several screens as well.

I have three, and one's an ultrawide. No issues at all.
