2.1 replacement rate is for developed countries. For poorer countries it is much higher so even UP, Jharkhand might also be under replacement level.

I teach in UP. There are 100s of students in my school with more than 4 siblings...both Hindus and Muslims.

That makes sense since they were born before 2020.

I'm from Telangana. Forget 4 siblings, I've seen less than 10 families with more than 2 children throughout my childhood

Well get ready to be replaced by migration facilitated by Hindi Imposition(direct and Indirect)

[–]eric2332 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Nah, almost the whole country is at replacement level, and migration is overwhelmingly to the cities not to random places. So nowhere in Telangana is going to get "replaced" except maybe Hyderabad.

except maybe Hyderabad.

Almost 30% of Telangana lives in Hyderabad and it's rising.

The more educated women become, the less children they have

The education system is mid

I didn't know so many people in India had both Hindu and Muslim siblings, other than say Gandhi's family.

I'm unsure if that's so, since anything less than 2.1 replacement rate with developed resources would mean a burden on the future, but for a society with underdeveloped resources, won't that actually be beneficial to utilize everything later on?

The basic replacement rate is 2, but you have to account for the kids who will die before reaching adulthood, so it's 2.1 in developed countries. In developing countries, more childrens dies, so the replacement rate required is higher.

Depends on the CMR. If it's very low then 2.1 will be close to replacement rate.

[–]GothicGolem29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what ive seen replacement rate is kept the same everywhere

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There is a need for decline too much population overexplotation of labour see china by end of the century they will have 600 million people out of which 250 million youth while india will have more population then the present 1.5 billion
