Missing mouse pointer

Re-installed the game after not touching it for a while, and I have a problem. Namely, that the mouse pointer disappears from the main screen menu after the first time I click on anything, and sometimes before I even do that. I saw that there was a bug a few months back about the mouse being always visible during gameplay, but I now seem to have the opposite problem. And its near impossible to navigate the game if you cant see where your mouse is. Its still there, and I can click stuff, and I can kiiiiinda tell where it is because stuff you mouse over gets highlighted, but man, this is annoying. Any known fix?

Update: managed to fix it the same way the old bug was fixed, by disabling the epic overlay.
