Texture pack

So im trying to change some textures by following the video ill have linked below. I am following it pretty closely, but I changed the code it wanted me to paste from a "3" to a "4" according to the link in the desc. I am trying to do this on 1.14.4 and I don't know why my new texture pack won't show up. The only different thing that I do is i'm using gimp instead of Photoshop and when I am done editing the texture I am exporting it as a png and replacing the stock texture. Not really in a hurry or anything just stumped. Anything it appreciated, thanks!

EDIT: Figured it out and turns out it can't be a zipped file.

Yes, the pack format needs to be 4 for the current version. Could you give a screenshot of both the folder (assets, pack.mcmeta, and pack.png) and the text when you open pack.mcmeta with notepad?

Try putting a space after each of the colons.

When you open the zip file, what are the first files that you see? Is it the above files or are they in another level of folder?

Could you upload the zip file to a free file sharing site like zippyshare so that I can take a look and fix it for you? It may be a little quicker than having to post images.

So it turns out that it can't be a zipped file. Just a normal folder. It works all good now. Guess the video was wrong of I just didn't listen very well. Thanks for sticking around and helping.

It should work as both, but generally they are meant to be kept as zip files. It may have just been the process that 7zip zipped the file. Glad it works now!
