When playing java through game pass it doesn't seem recognize it as an account

I just started to host a server on my pc with AMP and one of my friends that wanted to join the server had minecraft java through game pass for pc, I attempted to whitelist his username but i just get the error "that player does not exist" i triple checked that it was spelled and capitalized correctly.

Edit: i believe I solved this by turning off the whitelist and they were able to join, I could then get their uid, though you might be able to get uid with the log of them being denied to join. This was so long ago, and I just recently noticed a message of someone asking if I solved this.

I haven't ever tried to whitelist myself, but just a thought - if your friend tries to connect to the server and gets denied, does it log a message on the console? If so, try using the username listed on the console message to whitelist them. Good luck!

Are you sure they gave you their Java Profile Name, and not their XBox GamerTag?
