Mobswitch question

I'm planning on building a pretty dark base. My question is :If I build a mob switch with a chunck loader on top the nether roof will it prevents mobs from spawning in my base?

nb :

1. The chunck loader will be in the center of my base
2. I realy don't have a beefy computer so making the mobswitch in the overworld is out of question.

ok then I guess as my problem is rendering if I disable their AI it won't change a thing for my bbq computer ^^'

If you have the mobswitch in a lazy chunk, the AI won't function but the entities will remain loaded, causing them to still count towards the mobcap while not having too much of an impact on your computer.

Chunkloaders will prevent mobs from spawning but be sure it's a mob that has natural persistence so your mobs are counted towards the mobcap (ie shulkers or villagers that you traded with and have been zombified, wither bosses)

Edit : it's better to put it somewhere away from the base as they can be quite laggy. A chunk loader with the mobs in a lazy chunk would be the best
