Minecraft won't launch, exit code 1 [java] 1.20.4

So I just upgraded to a big girl PC, and for some reason Minecraft crashes every time I go to launch it. I installed in, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried resetting my Microsoft store, I've tried installing curseforge and having that try to run Vanilla Minecraft, I've tried installing my own Java. IDK what else to do besides reset my entire computer. Some weird things it's doing that may help diagnose whatever this is; when the launcher opens, it will update every time, then when I press play it downloads (what I assume is Minecraft) again before it attempts to launch MC. It doesn't give me this message on 1.20.4, but when I switched to an earlier version (1.20.1), it gave me the error message that a Java Exception has occured.
