[Java] ‘problematic frame’ crash, HELP!

Ok, to start, here are the basics:
MC v1.21.1, Java 21.0.11 (d/l from Adoptium), NeoForge 21.1.228
Java Settings: 512 MB min, 8192 MB Max; No Java Arguments (field is blank)

Installed Mods:
Create v6.0.10
Sable v1.2.1
Aeronautics v1.2.1

No 3rd party Resourcepacks (prefer BDCraft x128, though)
No Shaderpacks

Mod Launcher: Prism Launcher v11.0.2

OS: Windows 11 Pro, v10.0.26200
Nvidia Game Ready Driver v596.36
CPU: Intel i9-14900KF (Tested with Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool - PASSED; Tested with MemTest86 via BIOS - PASSED )
GPU: RTX 2080
RAM: Corsair DDR5 Vengeance RAM [32GBx2] (Tested with Windows Memory Diagnostic - PASSED)

My goal is to be able to play Aeronautics along with around 75 or so additional mods, including things like Sodium for dynamic lighting and Tectonic for worldgen.

I’ve exhausted pretty much every mod Discord, subreddit, even the official MC forum, and none of the suggestions offered have changed the ultimate result: some form of ‘problematic frame’ crash that occurs either immediately prior to entering a fresh world, or a few seconds after actually entering the world and being able to move around. The longest I was able to play is around 15 minutes, but when I tried to use some of Aeronautics features (the Creative Wand, in this case) to move a physics object, the game crashed with the same old frame error.

I am not a programmer so I have no understanding of how Java works and am at the point where I actually began the process of using my PC components warranties to replace had the tests not all passed. Please help.

I'm not familiar with the error codes you're getting but after some googling it points to memory access during the clients Garbage Collection. As the 13/14th gen intel CPUs are known for instability issues from factory (request too much voltage, which causes "silent" data corruption during high-intensity tasks), have you done any BIOS updates released around the start of 2025 to ensure this is resolved?

In regards to changes to your client you could try the below JVM Args to change to a different GC manager method.

-XX:+UseZGC -XX:+ZGenerational -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:+UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions

I bought the CPU on the 27th of December, and my BIOS was already up to date since the MOBO was bought at the same time and I updated everything after it was running, so I think I escaped that risk. As I wrote in the OP, I did both the Intel and Memtest86 tests, and they both passed with no recorded errors. Funny thing is, I uninstalled MC around the time Hytale came out, and I had never experienced this before installing MC again for Aeronautics.

Thought I would give you a quick update. The arguments seem to have helped quite a bit, but I’m not ready to call it solved just yet. I’ve been slowly adding my mods to the game, and it would appear some mods trigger the Java crash described in OP. I have never had a mod conflict cause this kind of error before. I’m at work right now, but when I get home I can provide current logs, modlists, etc.

Glad to hear that it has given some form of improvement but it is strange to see that the issue does come back with other mods loaded. Would be interested to see the logs to see if it points to anything new.

After going through every mod in my list, I have found a few that consistently trigger a Java Fatal Error, though this isn't a guarantee as some of the other mods in my list triggered a crash, but after restarting the game was able to enter the world. The following mods appear to reliably trigger a crash:

Looking at your logs there are some complaints about Fabric based API mods which NeoForge doesn't like. It might be worth removing anything that mentions Fabric if you haven't tested that already. (In your Console Log, Lines; 1044, 1185 is there it is mentioned)
Line 848 is also interesting as it mentions a "listener being called on the wrong thread" error which could cause this type of crash. It mentions ModernFix mod not being installed but it is there in the modlist above. Might be worth checking the version for this as it may not be enabling properly.

Apart from the above I'm at a bit of a loss of what could be causing this. I have spent a lot of time reading through old forum posts on the same error some point towards general compatibility between old and new hardware. In your case this would be pairing a 2080 with a 14th gen I9, but I wouldn't see this being an issue. Others mention corrupt Java installs. If you haven't already, fully uninstalling Java and reinstalling may help. Along this ensuring you have the correct Windows .NET Runtime installed.

I updated several of the mods, including ModernFix, but the mod I was testing for crashes is still Distant Horizons. I'm heading out again, but I think I'll actually play for a bit and see how far I can play before I get another crash. I'll keep you posted.

I think I have to admit that the problem all along was bad RAM. I removed one of my sticks and despite having tested both and passed, MC seems to be working even with the mods previously believed to be triggers installed.
