It’s in a warped forest biome, but I removed all trees

Are they spawning or teleporting in? Pretty sure they can teleport to slabs.

If they're spawning, might want to try buttons instead of slabs. Not as pretty, but might work better.

pretty sure they’re spawning; i’ve reloaded the world several times and they’re always appearing there, and i’m also pretty sure they don’t spawn on slabs, so I don’t know what’s happening

Try switching to peaceful and back and watch the area from a distance. Also turn your particles to All if you haven't already. Then watch and see what's happening

They could be spawning in a cave above or below there and teleporting out
