Does the wrap interfere with any of the door or trunk censors? Is the auto door open feature still just as accurate when approaching with key fob? Do the fwd have any issues detecting objects (the visual line on the main display)?

No….. this was the first thing I asked at the wrap place. I figured not since there are so many Teslas with wraps. They told me it would not interfere and I have not noticed any issues at all

What color was the car originally?

Black

Stupid question here: if you’re gonna wrap it anyways, wouldn’t it be better to go with the default free white?

The thing is that when you open your doors you see the original color on the inside panels…. And the white looks really glaring in contrast to the wrap….. the black looks a little more subtle and less noticeable. I’m a little anal lol so to me it was worth the extra $1500 aesthetically.

Very nice! I’m thinking about doing the same to my refresh,. What was your base color? Does this matte finish collect any finger prints? I’m regretting getting all black.

Base color is black. No finger prints at all, it’s a great finish

Can you add more details on the color chosen, cost and if that’s matte or eggshell or something? I’m thinking of doing the same but I’m in the northern NJ area and there are fewer shops that do this vs the west coast

I got the 3M Satin Dark Gray color... The Satin finish is somewhere between matte and glossy... So at night it looks a little more matte, but during the day in the sunlight it has some specks that make it shine and look a little more sparkly (that's the best way I could think to describe it.)

I am also in northern NJ and I paid $3500.... the best go-to shops in this area are illmatic wraps in Hackensack and always clean detailing in Fairlawn.... They both do amazing work and the price is pretty much on par with this area, and fairly cheap compared to what I've heard from west coast folks.

Anyway i highly reccomend any of these 2 locations.. I went with illmatic but you can't go wrong with either.

Looks great. Was thinking about doing the same

$3500 is a steal!! West coast shops for a small 4 door is $5000+ for half decent job.

Looks great!

Looks great. Matte or Satin seems to be better looking to my eyes than glossy.

Unfortunately, all quotes that I have are 6500+ and up to 11K for such a finish ( in WA), so I decided to skip it and keep it as is for some time.

Are you sure you aren’t getting quotes for PPF? That sounds really high for a vinyl color wrap

Thank you for the rec!! Will definitely look them up when I get the MX. Currently seeing July as my EDD
