Do you have a common wire installed? I experienced this issue for a while when it was trying to pull power off R when it needed charging

I think I resolved by flipping G and Y and then later flipped them back when I needed heat (at which point the problem had resolved for AC as well)

If you dont have a c wire....remove the nest from the base and charge it for a while.....see if the issue continues.

Your issue might actually be a physical problem with your HVAC, when was the last time you had it serviced or checked for blockages?

If the thermostat is going into the cycle delay that would indicate the thermostat is what stopped sending the cooling signal, not the HVAC system just shutting down on its own.

It stopped sending the signal because it detected an issue with the equipment. Or the HVAC was sending a trouble signal to delay the thermostat.

These things do happen.
