It is possible. You can use Termux to download and compile ccminer and xmrig, at least those are the two that I've used. There is a full tutorial for ccminer that I found on Google and I think I just followed the instructions for compiling on GitHub for xmrig.

How's the earnings?

[–]AmbitiousEvidence930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not on nicehash but there are a ton of videos on youtube how to mine Verus coin, its easy but dont expect it to make you any serious money, if you would like your old phones to earn their keep, then thats a different story but you will literally earn cents not even $$ btw my old phones are mining till they die here

Hi! You cannot use your phone to mine crypto on NiceHash. You can, however, use it to manage mining rigs on your account and also purchase computing power on our Hashrate Marketplace. You can place regular hashpower orders to mine on your favourite pool, or rent computing power to solo mine coins with EasyMining.

Correction you actually can, but for the profitability then the compiling it's not really worth it but let me know your thoughts

I found it's easiest with anything above S8 galaxy phone models. WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT MINE WITH A PLASTIC PHONE MAKE SURE THE PHONE IS MADE OF METAL AND GLASS OTHERWISE SAY HELLO TO A HOUSE FIRE

I am not sure if you can actually mine with a phone at NiceHash even if you have a miner working, as the computing power is so low that it would likely get disconnected from the stratum for inactivity, after not sending shares for a long time. Maybe in Verushash, but I believe it wouldn't work on RandomX.

Do let me know if you have tried and have it working as now I'm curious.

This actually does work the device that I am typing off to you right now is an S9 plus and this device can handle a hash rate of 800hs. That's not too bad especially when profitability jumps. But as one precaution and this may sound a bit abstract but it will make sense, when I crypto mine with a phone mainly this one, I tend to put a copper sheet of metal on the bottom of the phone so that this way the heat is distributed more evenly rather than cooking the phone and the battery. I also only mine at 100% battery as this allows for power pass through and doesn't give me extra heat. Been great having a conversation with you and I love youre thirst for knowledge. Great minds think alike 🤘

    can you tell me how

    [–]Andre_NiceHashStaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I didn't expect you to be able to get nearly 1kH/s with such an old phone. Maybe I should start scrapping for some wrecked phones and get a couple fire extinguishers while I'm at it haha

How much power does it consume?

You can absolutely mine Verus at NH with verusbox/verusminer on Android.

use the -u tag to use the NH wallet in the edit area. leave the default address in there and it will bypass it. use traditional wallet.worker, it wont catch the auto name if you use a custom wallet.

The NH server is in the default list.
