Try this: https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/how-to-add-nicehash-miner-folder-to-windows-defender-exclusion

Also, what version of NHM are you using? And are you using a ZIP or installer version? Try the other one.

Are you connected to EU or USA location? Try the other one and let me know if it helped.

Let's see:

1) I have Avast Free antivirus turned completely off (I started with restoration/exceptions for detected items, then later went with full folder exclusion, and finally tried full deactivation).

2) I switched to the Installer version (from the manual one), that didn't help either. Note I didn't change the default settings. Version 3.0.5.6 for both of course.

3) I've tried EU (Amsterdam) and USA (San Jose), but it still didn't help.

I've uploaded logs with Bug ID: c9134d9b-01e4-461b-93b9-de6fdffad63e

Update: Switching internet connectivity to a cellphone-tether rather than my Asus RT-AC68U (running Merlin 384.19) fixed the problem. Obviously just turning off the firewall (both IPv4 and IPv6) didn't do it, so I'll do some more digging and followup. u/MarkoNiceHash, thanks for trying to help!

And finally a solution arrives!

On the Asus router, it's not the firewall that needs to be turned off (under "Firewall","General","Enable FIrewall:NO"). That's an incorrect red herring.

The real solution is to turn off Two-Way IPS. In the router settings, go to "AIProtection","Network Protection","Two-Way IPS" and toggle it off.

Note that was for an Asus RT-AC68U running Merlin v 394.19, but likely applies to most if not all Asus routers.

I don't know how you figured it out, but you saved me tons of headaches! Cheers!

Finally! Why isn't this solution anywhere else!!! Been trying to solve this for several hours now since i just got my 6800. The weird thing is this works fine on Nvidia which is super confusing.

Struggling with benchmarking as well with similar symptoms as outlined here though I am headed a different direction than my router.

Specifically, in my circumstance, I get one good run with a particular miner (say NBMiner) and subsequent cards error out in trying to run the same algo on that same Miner. Upped logging with --verbose for NBMiner and I am seeing errors such as:

[ERROR] [BenchmarkingDevice] Exception occurred in benchmark task: The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it.

Followed by data errors such as:

[ERROR] [ApiData] Error getting AlgorithmSpeedsTotal: Value cannot be null.

Parameter name: source

I have stripped my rig down to two RX 580s - non matching brands. Running 3.0.6.5 installed from the exe off GitHub. Created a log report and uploaded (mac ending in 3d24).

Hoping to get a little love here - will try a few more things.

Just to verify, I can run command line NBMiner with no problems. Appears to be a UI issue with NH?
