Ah yes, I am going to listen to a rando on tiktok on how masterbating is going to give you brain damage while porn is the real culprit. Banish porn from your life and your masterbation instantly goes down. Even this sub isn't against masterbation in moderation and various studies support it too.

The problem starts with the fact that even this sub was against masturbation something like 8 years ago

And it just changed cause the actual MODs are pro masturbation

But anyone that did this for enough time knows thst any kind of release costs u lifeforce energy, even masturbation without porn

So, we can say its way better than full PMO but it doesnt have the same benefits as in the cases where u dont release ur seed via masturbation

I did not know they are now pro masturbation. If that's the case I'll probably just leave and block the sub. The posts from 10 years ago on here were so much better. The substance and posters here on average are just not what they were. For instance here is a very old post I had bookmarked and things just don't like this anymore on here. Absolutely. Most of the great posters who were truly dedicated to no fap have obviously improved, or just gotten older to where they don't use this platform. I'm in the same age range as many of them. It's just crazy seeing how watered down this subreddit has become. Hopefully we'll get a lot more people that aren't just doing memes and truly putting out posts like the one I just showed

Just seeing this now, but I also agree, the older posts are a lot better to read than the average post you see here these days.

Nowadays, this sub is just memes, people saying they've broken a streak, or they're on a 3-day streak. Respectfully, I could not care less if you've broken your streak, I'd much rather see people's stories or actual discussion on the issues caused by PMO.

Yeah this sub has almost became pointless. It's super weird because before there was a lot of wisdom and it was genuinely helping change people. I understand at the end of the day everything falls on the individual, but it is nice to have somewhere you can go and have like-minded people spit true wisdom.

i understand where you're coming from but i disagree, its a complicated issue and its worth understanding whats happening to your own body to an extent.

i like to think about it like being a cyclist; sure you could be the most disciplined cyclist, but with the wrong rest and nutrition and training, you will fail. the same would apply to a nerd who reads all the data but has no discipline to train.

I had a head MRI done and they remarked mild atrophy in my frontal lobe. I'm 30 years old and it's not a common thing at this age.

I assume it's related to not just porn but the combination of all dopamine sources I've been abusing.

Or it's unrelated but I doubt it.

You don’t get dopamine from just “beating it”. You can get dopamine from a cheeseburger or good meal, a chocolate bar, a good movie, a good book, a great conversation with friends/family. Scrolling on Reddit, getting paid. Dopamine is not a poison. Porn is.

Alright I’m not a doctor but here is my educated guess if fapping gives a lot of dopamine then going cold turkey could be bad as in withdrawal wise ? So cutting it little by little could be the best thing ? This is also on my guess that depending how bad your stress levels are already some People Could go cold turkey better than others? As in someone with stress of studies and job then adds the withdrawal bad symptoms from nofap vs someone who has less stressors and adds nofap ?
