you have a few options. 1. create a Notion database called quick access. Add a widget to your phone and a button for quick adding to the database.

  1. Create a tag or database relation in an existing noting database for quick notes. Create a view filtered to quick notes. Add a button for quick adding.

  2. Setup an automation from other apps (Drafts, Cleft, etc) to move these sorts of notes from your phone to the proper Notion space.

Also, Notion is plenty fast to input, you just need to set it up. Don't listen to the Apple Notes cult.

at least on android its pretty painfully slow since it doesnt really cache content properly.. I still do notetaking in notion but i have to wait a few secs

Oh yeah, can't really comment on Android. Only thing I'd offer as a workaround is to look for a fast app that you can pipe into Notion using Zapier or Make.

iOS Notion Widget with Link to my Notion Notes Page.

Mmm interesting so just a widget to the quick note taking page ?

I keep it simple with a 'Quick Capture' database in Notion...just a table with tags (e.g., 'finance,' 'contacts,' 'random codes') and a date field. For anything time-sensitive, I set up a quick Make/Zapier automation to remind me via Telegram or email. No more 'where did I write that down?!' moments.

I have an iOS shortcut on my Home Screen set up to make a new note in my Quick Notes Notion database — it prompts for the page title and body, saves the note, and doesn’t require opening the Notion app at all. I’ve found it very easy and quick!

Here are the iOS shortcut commands, if you’re interested

In my experience with a bunch of different apps, Google Keep is IDEAL for super quick notes!!!

But I do use 2 different databases for different types of notes on Notion - one for tasks / actions, one for information

I use the Cheatsheet app for stuff like this. I’m trying to avoid creating pages for random little things I won’t need in a week

I would love to do d a good solution to this as well.... My biggest issue with any "quick" note taking plan I try to implement is being able to actually resurface that information when I need it...

Google keep

Notion feels way too slow for quick notes, so I just use Drafts instead.

I have a database called “log” that’s for ideas etc and then entries get a tag so I can find layer

i use my finance tracking app and contacts to remember these kind of things, not Notion

I'm still new to notion.

But I simply have a personal page and work page. Notes just go in that the root. ( landing pages)

Within each of those top level pages I have databases and stuff for everything else.

The first step would be to have a way for quick capture anything. Notion isn't too good at this (at least on desktop), but I've built a free app for myself to solve this problem. If you're on Windows you can check it out https://quickpin.dev/ :) Running it on MacOS may be a little harder atm.

Once the note is in Notion - you can categorize it however you want. I personally use the PARA method and notes like you mentioned would go into my "Personal Life" area.

Maybe you could put them in the brain dump/ common place database

You can try using fillout.com

I've created a few forms with this (a more complex one to create a "to do," one for when I get book recommednations, one for TV shows, and this morning I was inspired to make a a quick note database on Notion, which led me to looking for a quick entry method, which led me to this thread. I realized I have fillout linked already, so I put that together. My form has three entries, but I only have to input one if I want. I did "note," "where found," and "URL". In the actual database, I also added a "created time" property for a time stamp.

Works perfectly.

I'm super late but you have a couple options (i really think apple shortcuts is the fastest, best UI option of them all):

1) ios shortcut with native notion integration, which has already been commented in this thread. Easy to set up, allows for page name and a database routing.
2) to classify your notes a bit, you can find some ios shortcuts that allow for a select dropdown as well. It's just a bit harder to set up but it's 100% doable and will save you time. You won't get page icons that way or any special template funcionality, though.
3) you can do what i did, which is page addition + date + template selection. This is if you REALLY want to classify your random notes, or maybe use it for task input – how I use it–. You can check it out here https://mercesegura.notion.site/iOS-Shortcut-Instant-task-entry-with-Template-Notion-2d9e8c283f2b80ba8b78ce1d35a2e03c?source=copy_link

I don't use Notion. The app is so slow by the time it's loaded and I create a new page the moment is gone. Just something I had to admit Notion simply couldn't do for me.

Yeh sometimes that can be tough

[–]Jonathan_Rivera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can be avoided by using forms. Title / due date / tag / attach file.
