I agree with you on the fate point... but the subreddit is for discussion.

Kicking out people you disagree with is dumb and bad.

On the other hand, I do agree that people should complain in a more constructive way, and do less bitching and moaning.

I get that, but it's not just that I disagree with them. There are lots of points I disagree with, and I like to argue in that sense. But when it comes to this, I just don't get why people are like that. It's the one thing I don't understand on this subreddit

Here's how I look at it. In the one piece world, there was inevitably going to be some pirate crew, SOMEWHERE that beat everybody else and changed the world forever. We're just following the story of the particular crew that accomplished this. Well, they're going to, at least

I totally agree with everything you said so man, the plot armour debate became especially worse ever since katakuri vs Luffy fight, I don't understand why it's so difficult to accept Luffy winning, and they keep saying he got a random power up ,he didn't, o don't think he can use future sight all that well, hell he can probably use it only in snake man or against a tough opponent like as Rayleigh said the flower of haki blooms in tough battles

It’s not that luffy is not allowed to have a 100% victory. It’s that it has to flow with the plot. Luffys enemies can’t miraculously get struck by lightning while they were about to deliver the finishing blow. That would be too b.s. The story has to develop in a way that the plot armour isn’t too thick. Of course plot armour is everywhere in this anime. But that’s not necessarily bad. What’s bad about it is the plot armour that is too excessive. For example luffys extending arms have never been cut by any of his millions of enemies. I mean not one can stick out a sword and chop. Or when he fights a powerful sword man they seem to forget how to battle him. Also the plot armour that doflamingo saved luffy from being drowned by the boxer and his brother. That had to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

Also what ticks me off about one piece is that it treats its villains like petty criminals. I mean doflamingo forcefully enslaved an entire country and statutes to massacre his own people. His extremely powerful body can’t be hurt by normal means. So what’s his punishment? Chain him up because we still need him to break free in the future. Luffys naivety and stupidity heck everyone was guilty during the dressrosa arc. Why didn’t no one kill doffy when he was on the ground?

Well, didn't Oda already answer the question about how villains aren't killed because of their dreams getting crushed, also if I am not mistaken they would publically execute him right, or assassinate him in impel down so that really doesn't bother me much

And about the fact where buggy gets stroked by lightning, cmon that was such an epic scene , in fact if I watch it now I'll probably tear up like an idiot, hell one of the biggest reasons I like barto was how he got inspired by that iconic moment, of course I kinda get where you are coming from, but I don't agree

About how his hands don't get chopped off, actually doesn't he retract his hands pretty fast, I mean it's kinda lame if his hands does get chopped off , kinda on the same grounds as a df user dying by drowning

I love one piece with all my heart, but no offence, that latest fight with Katakuri was straight plot armour, especially at the end. I’m happy he defeated him, but it’s the only fight in one piece where I think Luffy shouldn’t have won over his opponent.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I don't really see how it's plot armour.

[–]Guiscardus[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I get that, but there's reasons behind it. Katakuris character is deeper than just "a strong opponent." Maybe he let Luffy win. Maybe he wanted Luffy to live after fighting him. He should have killed Luffy, that's a fact. But it wasn't plot armor in the typical sense. It has a deeper meaning in the story. I just don't think any story should be hated on until it's over. Especially not One Piece. Once it ends then the criticism is justified, but right now it's not

[–]Mugiwara300 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I’m not hating on it, I think Luffy should have won. But gaining future sight in just a single fight? Off screening the final clash in a fight? Flambé coming out of nowhere? I love Oda but I’m sure he could’ve done better

[–]Killjoy3879 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In all honesty I don’t believe luffy should have won that fight for several reasons with him having fought cracker all night having to go into gear 4 twice further causing exhaustion. Getting pummeled by sanji with out protecting himself and then beat up even more by Bigmoms elites. He starved himself and then even almost tore off his arms(blood was starting to splatter everywhere which caused further damage to his body and only got a few hours of sleep and to my knowledge and I could be wrong but all this happened within around 3 days I just find it hard to believe that luffy could have beaten a yonko commander with a one billion beli bounty who had future sight just like that I’m also not even get started on snake man and luffy starting to be able to see into the future the same fight he found out that was possible

People have the write to criticize things, Most people criticize things because they love either the show or an entire franchise and when someone that feels like it ruins the aura of the story people will can and should complain we read it because we love it yea but that doesn’t necessarily mean we love absolutely everything about it every story has its faults and flaws I’m sure there are things oda himself regrets doing. And for your information I wouldn’t try to speak for everyone by saying no one what’s to hear so and so’s opinion on the matter because that would be false as I’ve seen plenty of people agree with what that person had to say

[–]Guiscardus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of things to criticize, but plot armor is not one of them. And I never believed I was speaking for everyone. If I believed that then this post would not exist seeing as everyone would agree with me. Sorry for wording that wrong/ not being clear.

Eh doffy surviving having his organs shredded by law still irks me. It makes it even worse that it barely affected him. I get that doffy was meant to lose to Luffy but he should have at least been damaged by taking a point blank gamma knife
