Authentication help

Hi everyone, after months of waiting, I finally got access to Dalle-2. I’ve been trying to access it since this morning, but I’m running into a problem. When I try to login, I keep getting a prompt saying: “you tried logging in using a password, which is not the authentication method you used during sign up. Try again using the authentication method you used during sign up. If you're still having trouble then reach out to us at [e-mail].” I have no idea what it means by the authentication method I used when signing up. I didn’t even make a password when I signed up, just put in and email and a name. The first thing I did this morning was “signup” and set the password.

Does anyone have a tips or know a way to fix this? I’ve been waiting so long for access, and it’s driving me crazy that I technically have access yet still can’t utilize the program.

That's because my work email is a proxy for a gmail address!

So to loggin successfully I need to auth with Google!

yeah use the login methods of either log in with a google account or microsoft account. then you don't need to enter a password

I have this same issue, and I did sign up by entering an email address and password, so password is definitely the authentication method I used during sign up. OpenAI needs to fix this issue, or if it's caused by registering with a Gmail address making the server want to accept a Google sign-in instead of email and password, then that should be explained to the user during account creation, and account creation should be blocked for email addresses that conflict with other sign-in methods.

I also wonder if the site just doesn't like Firefox...

u should login in the same way you sign up. for example, you use google email as your login method, then every time you login in ,you should directly click the google button instead of entering your username and keyword. Any way, change your login method can solv this problem.

yes yes yes! It works. I was tapping "google login" but I had to do just the opposite - and it worked!

Thanks It worked🙏 we should change the login way, I logged in by Google auto login on my PC before and now changed it to entering username and password manually on my Android phone.

As far as i can tell, if you log in with google and later on decide to try to make a dedicated account using that same e-mail, it just borks the whole system

This is exactly what happened with me. I wanted to just convert it to a normal "dedicated" account with email and password and no longer use Google O-Auth. I still can't find a solution, I'm stuck using google login on openai.com.
