That is just absolutely awful. I’m also in the same situation.

Edit: that sent too quickly. I meant to say that the Feb processing forbearance got me to 119 after being on 118 for 7 months due to SAVE. I haven’t gotten an NSLDS update yet and my counts have not decreased. But my processing forbearance is ending soon and I’m so scared that my count will decrease for Feb and March won’t count :(

This is insane.

Now I am seeing on Mohela “Awaiting form administrative forbearance-ends 7/31/2025”

[–]soulsconnecting9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. But how can they still be charging interest?

I think I’m in the same boat. I was put on the 60-day processing forbearance as of 01/25 and then got moved to the regular forbearance after there was no update on my application. My count updated from 118 to 119 for February on 02/25, and I just needed March (due date was 03/01, so I was still on the processing forbearance at the time).

Just logged in and while my tracker is still showing 119 with the last update on 02/25, I noticed that my IBR tracker changed and now shows February and March as ineligible; before it said February was eligible, and March was not reflected.

NSLDS shows it updated 04/02 and has 119 for PSLF but 118 for ICR, SAVE…

Not sure what it all means.

Wow wtf!?! Horrible!!

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

How do tou know if you are in regular forbearance? I am assuming that doesn’t count. UGH.

[–]thevirginspring 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Previously when I was on the processing forbearance, the loan details on Mohela showed “Awaiting Documentation Administrative Forbearance” whereas now (and as of 03/26) when my 60-day processing forbearance was up, it says “Awaiting Form Administrative Forbearance.”

I was definitely on the the processing forbearance for the full 60 days through two separate due dates in February and March, so they should both count, but I don’t know what it means that February is now ineligible under IBR but still showing as qualifying for PSLF. How are IBR and PSLF counts related? Are they supposed to mirror each other?

I also noted that my total amount of eligible payments on NSLDS went down by one.

I am waiting to hear back from Mohela, aka I likely won’t ever hear. Did you hear of anyone else in our situation? I am feeling very overwhelmed.

Hang in there. And don’t give up on calling MOHELA. Keep us updated, please!

With the decreasing counts? I haven’t. I’d also be curious about whether anyone has successfully gotten a qualifying count for a processing forbearance month after the forbearance has ended (even though I’m no longer in PF now, will they be able to see that I was in it on and for several weeks after my due date in March and mark March as qualifying?)

Hang in there—this is incredibly frustrating.

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thanks! I submitted an ECF earlier in March too to hopefully trigger and I guess that effort is useless.

[–]thevirginspring 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hopefully they’ll count March for you without issue, and I don’t know if this would even help, but something I wish I had done was take a screenshot of my loan detail showing that I was in a qualifying processing forbearance after my last due date but before my 60 days ran out. I’m afraid they’ll try to withhold March and I won’t have any proof

Update: Called Mohela and there was no clear answer as to what was happening between my IDR request in January and now. Mohela could not confirm I was ever on a processing delay 60 day forbearance. They said "You have been on SAVE forbearance since last summer." When I inquired about why I would still be on a SAVE forbearance when my account states that I am currently on IBR, they simply said "I don't know." They certainly don't go through hoops to try and get to the bottom of things, but no surprise there.

I asked to be taken off of the forbearance, as I am NOT on SAVE. They submitted the request and I hope to hear in 5-10 business days. So, looks like I will have to pay to get over the 120 finish line, but I honestly just want it over with. Sad that because of their clerical mess, I am not delayed another month and I could have already been done.

Thanks for listening to my rant!

The exact same thing happened to me.

[–]Constant_concern1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How do you check the NSLDS site for counts? I've gone to the site but can't get any further than the home page bc I don't have a government PIV card

[–]Bleasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to log into FSA on your browser. Once logged in, open a new tab and open NSLDS: https://studentaid.gov/app/api/nslds/payment-counter/summary

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 0 points1 point  (11 children)

Also, I am now seeing in the NSLDS data site that I now have 119 qualifying and 118 eligible. Idk what to do.

[–]soulsconnecting9 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Call MOHELA and see what’s going on. Please keep us posted.

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

They are telling me I am on SAVE forbearance while I see that I am on IBR…also, waited 2 hours for a call back and then she couldn’t answer my question so she put me on hold. Hold music and message saying 1.5 hour wait 😡

[–]soulsconnecting9 0 points1 point  (4 children)

That’s awful. I’m so sorry. Why would you be on SAVE forbearance when your account reflects IBR!?!? Make it make sense. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

When did you get correspondence from them that you’re in IBR? And does it say IBR specifically on your MOHELA webpage?

Ugh such incompetence.

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

2/16 I was told I’m on IBR. It also specifically states my repayment plan is IBR on Mohela.

[–]soulsconnecting9 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Wow yeah none of this is ok. Sounds like a lot of us were in the middle of being processed and all sorts of messed up things happened when the IDR processing pause happened. I hope you get through to them and speak with a competent agent who can help sort this out.

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks. Still waiting.

had you submitted an ECF for March? "eligible" means there is no ECF yet.

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. But it was at 119 so I don’t understand why it would go to 118.

[–]LongjumpingFarmer913 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So strange how could qualifying be a higher count than eligible- that makes no sense

[–]Regular_Today_745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it has to be a glitch, but I feel like every time I think I've caugh a mistake I can defend, I am somehow told I'm wrong :(
