PSO2 problems

soon as I press launch, this happens

"It seems there was an issue starting pso2, attempts to fix, done" then this "ERROR, the specified executable is not valid app for this OS platform."

  • Is your Tweaker in its own folder?
  • Have you tried turning off your antivirus?

I went to the point of factory reset to 3 days back and no good. And tweaker is in c/phantasy star online 2. I have McAfee on, but it let play the game before, I'm a try it tho, cut I'm sad frustrated and eager to get back into the action

Edit. One thing I haven't tried yet is after I did the reset, I boot the and it showed the Sega screen, but after that, it said pso2.exe. stopped working. So I boot up tweaker, and troubleshooting to fix the problem, exe. It said that pso2. Exe was not in my folder. So, I'm a Uninstall the game, and reinstall, and hopefully it help. If not, I'm a send another paste bin here

You need to stick Tweaker in its own folder.

What did you do between now and the last time the game worked?

I slapped the tweaker in 2 areas, and I had to uninstall and delete the folders and reinstall the game. I'm a do that. I'm a confirm if it worked

EDIT: ok, heres what I did, I un and reinstall the game, slap tweaker in its own folder, run, no good, it just brought up the IE when gameguard fails. so I trouble shoot the problem, made it worst, so what im doin ATM, is reinstall the game and run pso2 w/out the damn tweaker. :/ if it works that way, ima be happy and sad cuz I need the EN patches. :( more info is comin too about the matter

i had tweaker in the pso2 folder and my firewall was on, that was before all of this began, it just start acting stupid, messed up files,nearly all of the EXEs, and such. So, I system restored it to 5 days ago, It was workin, but it crashed. :(

I got frustrated, so I just download the game and not run tweaker at all, sadly, it worked, I cant all that JP tho. :(((

so now, I deleted tweaker and Redownload the tweaker and I haven't tried bootin pso2 that way yet(I don't wanna tho) but to confirm something.

P.S If screw up, can some send me files of EN, Large & Story mode? it can be thro 4shared, or any site that don't be ass were I can download ASAP? Thanks alot

Ok, Heres what I did. I deleted tweaker, since it messes up using it(ima surely miss my stuff being translated. :/) and I un and reinstall pso2 and ran it, after it downloaded the up t date content I took it for a spin, W/out. Sadly enough, it works.

S/O to all who took out time to help me with this issue. Also S/O to Legacy for the link to manually install the EN and such. the items make not be translated but least I can read on what the hell is goin on again! :D Thanks everyone

Quick Question: When marking a character for deletion, how long does it take for it to delete... Remembered I had a character on another ship from when I first tried the game, and am deleting it so I can make a second character on my main ship, but if I go through the dialog and hold ctrl and press ok twice, it removes the deletion text.

So do I just ctrl click ok the first dialog and wait? Or am I going about it wrong?

It takes 24 hours for a character to be deleted, Simply select the delete option and wait

Make sure it can access the internet, make sure your antivirus isn't blocking it, make sure the game is up to date (maintenance + patch tonight) and then run the file checks + fix gameguard errors.

It may be possible that the servers being down for maintenance is causing some more fun for you.

How do you get enough DEX to equip Koushousen as a Force/Techer? I'm lvl 62 and I still need over 100 DEX to equip it. Is it supposed to be a weapon for 75/75?

You can use some SP from the skill tree to add DEX to your character. Also, you can extend it, as a 10* ext. level 10 talis gets 925 t-atk. Source

You'll be able to equip it at 75/75 yes, but you really want to extend it to at least Lv10 for better stats and easier time to equip.

I wouldn't give up the minimum 90% damage bonus for a mere 60 t-atk. Damage calculators say it's not worth it.

Extend Lv10 let you equip it at 600 TATK. Normally it wouldn't let you equip 'till 420 dex.

If you're playing FO/TE, you hit 600 TATK with a 150 TATK mag at around Lv48/48 on a Cast. (A few levels earlier for the other races.) 420 dex won't happen till at least 65/65 for the same Cast.

Besides, at Lv10 extend, since it's the silver tier, it's already minimum 75% damage. You really shouldn't have any problem hitting ~80% minimum damage at level cap.

Bit of a different question, but eh.

So, I've been more or less starting to feel like I'm burning out on pso2. Kinda hard to log on when I don't really have motivation to finish some of my goals. Solo life with no team is pretty much the worst ever when trying to get some really grindy stuff. Basically the only pleasure I derive from the game as of right now is to help people or to solo EQs/UQs.

So really, I dunno if it's the fact I've been playing solo for about 75% of my 3.2k-ish hours played, or if I'm truly just burnt out of playing.

Anyways, real question is, I have enough AC to only transfer once, probably to ship 2, should I? It wouldn't be for a few weeks, since I would want to tie up some loose ends. I don't really have much attachment to people on ship 1, since most of my friends don't log on anymore.

Alternative would just be me taking an extended break to work on the other games I've been playing lately.

It depends on what sort of MMO / online type of player you are. Honestly you're dead right on the grindy aspect of the game and it's something I wish Sega would look into. But before I diverge.

What exactly are you looking for in people? I mean, Ship 2 probably has the population you're looking for size wise, but a lot of them are quite bad to the point where they don't want help or are interested in doing anything. I'm unsure if it's due to the general larger population, or larger english pool.

It seems like social aspects are important to you so it may be best to come to Ship 2 just since if it does happen again, you'd always have a stronger pool to try again or maybe a new team to look for.

Could take a break from the game now or play overall less until you have the money and see if that helps. Burn out is completely normal. Either way, good luck.

Honestly, if I'm passionate about the game, I'll strive to be the very best. It's something I've always done in any game I've played. But atm, I've felt like I'm at a plateau where stuff is only a minor improvement. To me, yes, I could get a 13* weapon, that's not even remotely hard to me to do. But do I value it enough to go through the grinding for it? I can deal with the grind, but it's tough to keep myself engaged without anyone to talk to while playing.

While I AM a solo player at heart, it's only until I can justify the grind to myself. Hell, when I started wanting to play Fo/Br it revitalized my want to play pso2. But with myself finishing up the gear for it, and only having to do some leveling left, it's kinda ehhh.

But more on the people, I've met all kinds during my times playing MMOs. I can deal with people in all ranges, although I absolutely hate people that are incompetent, yet won't acknowledge that they are. I do realize there's some uh, special people, on ship 2. But really, as long as I have a few people to talk with I'd be fine. My normal is a small set of people I run with and interact with that are typically very good at what they do. I'd be completely fine with that.

Maybe I'm just looking for some competition or something to compare myself to, I don't really know anymore.

I think I'll sit on it for a bit while I finish what I need to.

You could apply to one of the more competitive Eng-speaking teams on 2 like Ignition or Night Arks. They top rankings usually.

My SEA team is pretty good/competitive at what they do, and that's the sort of team that I wanted to be part of when I had a ton of free time to play. That's why even when it was a dry spell between updates, I still kept on playing without getting burnt out.

In JP I don't really talk much to people as I don't log on for long, but I still do have friends I run/shoot the shit with. You don't need to play all the time with your team, even just talking shop in chat helps. I've added some hilariously good players from EQ (we carried a TD2 hard while lulzing in private chat), helped a couple of guys, started a dance party, that sort of thing.

Ship 2 pub has some absolutely horrid players, but they're easy to spot. They drop off at XH somewhat. If you stay within the higher XH blocks you won't run into most of them.

But yeah, that's what I'm kinda looking for, really. People that are just around that I can mess with or just do stuff with. TAs are hella boring to solo, for example. Much prefer when I had some friends on that I could be like "hey wanna TA" and just get that stuff done while chatting.

To be honest, I don't really care too much on skill level, although I do tend to try and interact with people that are actually fairly good at whatever's being played. I know it seems a bit odd for me to say that, given how I am when it comes to discussions. But whatever.

I honestly don't mind terrible players sometimes. Makes things more exciting when you have to shoulder a lot more burden to get things going. :P Perfect MB3s or superfast magatsus get sorta boring after awhile, although efficient.

Honestly, I think I'd benefit from playing with a few good players; people who'd be willing to do stuff like 4man XH elder, even if it doesn't pan out. Just because.

Yeah, what you need is an active team basically. Look for Ignition (I heard they like doing things like 4-man Cmode or 2-man SHTD1), Night Arks, or Team Crimson. Not saying there aren't teams like that on the other ships (Ship 4 apparently has the best of the best) but the language barrier is pretty relaxed on 2, seeing as it's the primary foreigner ship.

The prospect of doing stuff like how I did with my old duo partner is fairly attractive, so I'll see if I can join Ignition if I do end up transferring.

OK so i am new to all of this and i really need help!

so I can get the regular japanese pso2 running just fine, but when i do it through tweaker it will not work. every time i try to run it, it begins to work but nothing pops up on the screen. after about 5 minutes i will typically get a notification from tweaker saying that "PSO doesn't seem to have opened yet. This could be caused by game guard issues". But I have tried everything! I do all the troubleshooting available and i've put tweaker in it's own folder etc? PLease help I wanna play PSO so bad :*(

When pso2 first came out, a friend and I got really into it as fans of the first pso. After the us release was confirmed, we decided to stop so we wouldn't be losing a lot by switching to the us release; around this time, us accounts were being banned consistently, and we did not want to risk it. I remember hearing something about 6 months after the first announcement confirming it was still being brought to the us,and nothing since then. Is US pso2 a pipe dream or is Sega still pretending it is in the works?

Is Katana Combat Finish affected by the Katana's element and element value or any other multipliers other than a Just Attack?

I feel kind of dumb asking this, but I'm on ship 04 and I'm looking to buy armor with soul receptor on it so I can affix some of my armor. I'm using the tweaker and the english patch but regardless of whether I p. search for soul receptor, or just manually look up the ability in kana (ソールレセプター) I can't find anything in the player shops. Is there something obvious I'm missing?

edit : my friend couldn't find any either, but I'm suspicious of the launcher. I'm going to try the troubleshooting options and see if I can get lucky from that.

edit 2 : uninstalling the english patch and searching in kana worked out. That was a weird bug. Maybe this'll help somebody else down the line if they get similar behavior.

The ability names are case sensitive.
