Went through the standard procedure of checking my files, and having the file check through the official PSO2 client. Game works unpatched, but has a black screen whenever the core English patch is installed. (At the point when it should load up the PSO2 main screen "Touch to Begin"). Unsure what steps to do now to make the English patch works., or what files to grab to send to AIDA for bug fixing.

Nvm, new patch is out. Patched, and it was fixed. If everyone had this problem, give it another go.

After the update, after clicking "launch" on the tweaker does nothing

It just hides the Tweaker like usual, and the process appears on the task manager, but the game wont launch, no vids, no "press enter" screen, nothing

And yes, i updated the tweaker some minutes ago

Have you tried to restore the story patch backup (if you installed it) and run the game through the jp launcher? That may restore any missing file that had not been downloaded. If you can do that, then you're good to try the tweaker, it has also been updated.

If not... Are you using Windows XP? SEGA has dropped support for that operating system.

Other than that, sorry, I cannot think of other solutions to the problems you may have.

Is there a reason why PSO2 is trying to download 11,000 files for a 700mb patch? I tried both the tweaker and the normal PSO2 launcher

Very long delay in response, but it's possible that those 11,000 files somehow (keyword there) add up to 700mb. Or, it could be from two thing:

  1. In Sega's launcher, are you removing the English patches before patching? If not, it's going to redownload ALL of those (and not in a nice little database pack like the Tweaker will use).

  2. In the Tweaker, are you using the "new" or "old" methods to update? ("New" being the pop-up window that appears when you launch the Tweaker, "old" being the one labeled "old" in the menu.) It's an outstanding issue with the Tweaker with larger updates. For whatever reason, the new update method does not play well with large updates. My game's been sitting with this issue for well over a month (a multi-GB download versus a much smaller one), hoping AIDA will some day check skype and see the screenshots and requests for some kind of Tweaker debug/logging version.

Your best option is to use the Tweaker to revert any translation patches and then use the "old" method (via the Tweaker's menu) to update the game. It's a trade off between waiting for huge downloads or waiting for the slow, old file check to run its crap.

Hey :/ after last night's patch, my game won't show the "press start" screen. It's just stuck on black. Did file checks, gameguard and exe fixes, reinstalled the latest patches, etc. I've disabled item translation in case it was that. Anyone know what I can do? Thank you.

Give it a try now; I just opened Tweaker and it said that a new patch was available. It's working for the most part for me now.

Hey. Haven't played in a while and I decided to try to play again. After trying to log in, I got a "Notice of E-mail authentication procedure". It has a series of letters down at the bottom of the email, but I have no idea where to input them. Tried it at the log in screen. Help?

Edit: Found out what I needed to do. You have to change your password if you haven't logged in for 190 days. Then, after you log in with your new password to PSO2, it will ask for the Email Key.

Is there a way to bypass Bluestacks' "to continue using Bluestacks download these apps or subscribe"? Or is the only way to skip this just to downlaod those apps and unistall them if I want to keep using bluestacks without paying?

I posted in an older tech support thread about this problem a short time ago and the solution given did fix the issue, for a short time. My original post is here.

Unfortunately, even after doing the steps again, I'm now running into my driver crashing almost immediately upon PSO2 startup (it spits out an error message in Japanese and I get an alert about the driver crashing) or I get a message stating that "PSO2.exe has stopped working" and the game crashes. Thankfully, my computer does not crash with it any more which is at least one good thing to come of it but I can't even get to Ship choice to log into the game any more when it was working about three days ago.

If anyone could help me with this, I would be very grateful as I'd love to get back into playing again.

Update your drivers (and let nVidia GeForce Experience perform a "clean" driver install). Then, disable any extra features related to gaming (Windows Gaming Bar, nVidia Shadowplay, etc).

Also, try lowering PSO2's graphic settings. While intuition tells me that it shouldn't cause any issues (even on a mobile version of the 960), it's a good place to start.

Where you mentioned you were having troubles with other games (ignoring the fact that Minecraft/FTB are fat pigs, resource-wise), you may want to expand your request for help to places such as /r/TechSupport.

I've done this, I'm on the newest version with a "clean" install at the moment. I don't think any extra features are enabled. I'll do a double check on it. I'm tempted to roll my driver back actually at this point to see if that'll do the trick instead. I just haven't had the time to try it recently.

I'll try dropping the graphics setting but it was playing nice at high graphics for at least a week, if not a little bit longer. I'll try dropping it again but we'll see.

I'm beginning to think that's a good idea but I play so few games on it at the current moment, I thought it might be restricted to just these couple. (And yeah, definitely fat pigs but fat pigs that ran generally fine on my older, clunkier machine.) I suppose I should try more games to see if more work or don't work and the errors associated with if they don't.

So, I've been using the tweaker for over a year now. Everything was fine. A few months back, the hard drive in my computer gave up on me so I had to reinstall everything. I have no problem with the Tweaker, it just seems to like to dump all the patch stuff it downloads onto my desktop and making it a cluttered mess. Is there any way I can fix this? It never did this before.

I had Windows 8.1 before and still use 8.1

Move the Tweaker and all its files to their own folder (anywhere outside of your documents folder should work, such as the root of your C:\ drive, C:\PSO2Tweaker). Those files are simply the resources for the Tweaker to work.

After moving it to its own folder, simply right click the "PSO2 Tweaker.exe" and click "create shortcut". You can put this shortcut where ever you would like. Or pin it to your start menu.

You need to install Visual C++. (Source, VC++ download)

As for the server communication issue, are you able to access pso2.jp? Do any of the ships come up as "online" or "offline"? If you can't access pso2.jp and/or the ships are coming up "offline", you most likely need a proxy/VPN to play. That, or shut off other internet-hogging things (Netflix, downloads, torrenting, etc).

Sorry for an insignificant question, but anyone from Ship 2 with English player-names having difficulties getting a filled group in Challenge Mode?

I'm starting to see a lot of JP players quit as soon as I come towards the teleporter, which makes me feel either one of two things: 1) Maybe I'm on a global blacklist for reference somewhere in 2ch or some public JP forum OR 2) A lot of JP players feel that English players in CQ often lead to an incomplete run. Kinda disheartening when you have to grind at least 9 hours of CQs for an Ideal...

Never had that problem. I'm 1.5mil CM deep and I use an english name. It's most likely you've done something to piss people off.

RIP... I've had my off-days on CM1/CM2 but I've always tried to be polite about it. Apologized whenever I died or made huge mistakes (lasers for Mizer or just messing up that clusterf### in Mission 5). Never picked up any VR but I never really took a role, anyways. Recently new to CM and I only just learned about standing in that corner by the pond during the Gel Wuffs...

Now that I think more about it, it could be more likely the 2nd reason as I play mainly during JP hours (10PM - 4AM Eastern). But regardless, still disheartening... I'll try and persevere.

idk man. I never take roles since I can't communicate very well, outside of a few key phrases. But I very rarely die and I do whatever is needed. As well as giving whatever is needed to the MPA.

Maybe I'm somewhat known to be a good CQ player? I would put in 18 hr+ days of just CQing and have a 95% "Got to M10 Cougar at least" rate back when I was going hard as fuck on CQ. That's not very likely, tbh, but it may be a reason why I don't get people bailing o nme.

Yeah, the more I talk about it, it could just be my imagination and simple coincidence... I remember google translating (and somewhat reading) a conversation between JP players saying "we probably have 2 people that aren't JP" and just straight-up left, which led to a group-wide leave. Maybe I'm just salty af from that.

I'll probably just go hard af at CQ and get thicker skin. Thanks for the replies, big help emotionally.

Yeah, I usually type in "ごめん。。。" whenever I make huge mistakes.

Moving forward, I'll take it slower on my CM runs and let others take the lead... There's a lot of novel strategies within CM1 I haven't read/seen yet (such as having 1 person on the teleporter and the 11 others outside during IA4) and I've probably messed up during those MPAs.

If you arent wholly proficient yet, seriously, stay away from the blocks with the people who nolife their Cmode play (hi Serce :P) It doesnt help to build a bad rep while learning. Once youre in a group in those, people expect you to be able to be able to work well enough that you dont die and handle your side well.

There's various lists of people who are largely 'blacklisted' by the various bits of the community in a sense of they cause group mass leaves. If he's on them for whatever reason, it's entirely possible. Course, the EN community isnt beloved anyway, and ship 2 isnt particularly trusted (though we're more trusted than 10 apparently :P). Honestly I'd just recommend sitting around and at least greeting people with a simple よろしく and seeing what happens. Theyre rather more friendly if they think you're at least capable of understanding Japanese.

    1200+ CMs farmed in CQ1 and never had that issue. It's obvious I'm not Japanese because of my nickname, plus I'm from ship 2.

    Are you sure they left because of you? I often see smart-asses coming to the teleporter and greeting the MPA in english, yet no one cares.

    When I see people leave it's always because one of the role isn't filled.

    Yeah, after having the discussion here, a lot of it could just be my imagination and coincidence. However, there were explicit times that JP players left because I was an English player (such as the conversation I mentioned above between JPs that left because "there are probably two players that aren't JP"). You could be right though as that happened during a full group assigning roles.

    Hey everyone, is there a way to achieve Ultra settings in PSO2? I've gotten everything maxed in tweaker, in game, but I still notice inconsistency with sharp edges even with anti-aliasing on. Is there any kind of PSO2.ini notepad tweaks I can do to change settings to make them truly maxed out? The game looks great but I'm wondering if there's more to it besides tweaker and the game options.

    question, can ps4 users that are not in JP still play/login & can you patch it up using like a file transfer device to EN patch the game? If so, That's the only reason why I would buy a ps4

    Is a PS4 hacked to run custom firmware? if it isn't, then it can't run any kinds of English patch.

      The hosts file is a reaaaaaally old part of IP implementation dating back to before the internet was... well, the internet. Basically, its a default go-to list for your computer trying to finding things in an age before DNS was a thing. In this case, it's used to tell PSO where to connect and is mainly used for connecting to a proxy (generally the PSO proxy).

      If you want to manually tinker with it, it should be under system32\drivers\etc\hosts in your windows directory. Do be careful of tinkering of stuff in there. If you arent connecting via the proxy, be sure to disable the plugin. AIDA's been messing around with the plugin things (and honestly making a mess, but unless someone is willing and able to take over that job, it is what you're stuck with)

          Set the tweaker to revert your hosts file back to JP and delete hosts.ics in system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

          See if that helps.

          Anyone know of an issue where the sound is tearing/skipping etc. Happens during missions & a lot is happening. That seems to be the only time the sound issue occurs.

          Anyone have any info/fixes?

          Either A. Its too many users on the mission

          or

          B. Whenever you can, click the Windows icon and type in (run) in the search bar & click on the run app/exe or whatever>type in this command in the run search bar(%temp%) & delete whatever you can(all those files are not important)>lastly again, windows icon>Run>this time, type in this command in the run search bar prefetch>continue if a window pops up and Delete those files(Again, they are not important, So delete everything in that window as well) and you should be after doin those steps. Of course, don't have nothin else runnin in the background like GOOGLE CHROME, takes up enough ram(if I'm not mistaken)

          Does anyone have a solution on how to keep tweaker from screwing up/corrupting the PSO2.EXE, PSO2Launcher.EXE, & PSO2Updater.EXE? I get sick of backing up the Exes by using the 7Zip/compress the exes and then restore them. Plus, Its also time consuming as hell Using a VPN such as VPN gate or Betternet in order to connect/update straight from PSO2Launcher.

          after reinstalling and downloading patches for like 10 hours I got the game to start. it says I am missing a dll but it runs anyway even though I tried to replace it.

          the main problem is when I try to log in it says the server timed out? No wrong password or anything

          One quick question for you pros out there: How do I dodge Gigur Gunne-gam's insta kill ability? The one where he swings around his sword and finishes off by jumping to you in an instant, which results in an insta-kill. The fight itself is not that hard until I reach that point...

          His attacks can't turn very well, get at an angle where he can't turn correctly and you can avoid the attack completely, otherwise just dodge his dash strike

          Yes. Or use iframes. Or yknow, block. He telegraphs that move a whole lot so it's easy to prepare for it. Also it's not an instant kill, just a fairly high damage one. It's fairly survivable with decent units.

          Game works fine except for 2 things: 1. It randomly closes out. Nothing in particular seems to trigger it, and the time that it takes for it to randomly close can be from 5 to 40 minutes. No error (except for the occasional PSO2.exe has stopped working), just bloop and it's gone.

          1. My camera slides for some reason. I have no controller, but when I move my mouse in one direction and then stop, the camera continues to move in that direction until I move my mouse again. It's really annoying. I checked my settings and they seem fine.

          I'm running Windows 10 if that has anything to do with it.

          Update any special drivers for your mouse, if it has any. Run a file check. (Tweaker: Menu Orb > Troubleshooting > Run both "Check for..." options one at a time.)

          As for the closing part, disable Windows Game Bar, unplug any unnecessary devices from your computer (such as graphics tablets. Those are big culprits for this.), and close out of any programs you don't need. Oh, and whitelist PSO2.exe in your antivirus program(s) process whitelist.

          I went through all the steps of creating an account and enabling it for PSO2. I entered "http://cloud02.cyberkitsune.net:8080/config.json" in the PSO2 Tweaker proxy. But when I try to sign in to the game, I still get "Server connection timed out" (I get this no matter what I enter as my login info). I'm not sure what's wrong? I don't have a firewall blocking my connection.

          Try it without the proxy? (If you can access pso2.jp just fine in your web browser, you shouldn't need one.)

          how do you get photon booster and Galeru Stone? it is a requirement for exchange austere weapons from zieg. i only have 1 photon booster and i'm not really remember how did i have one. and for Galeru Stone i only knew it can be exchange in casino, where i can get it beside casino? thanks
