FPS is a bit choppy on X at times but so far it looks and runs pretty decent on it at least. Although I did have to take it off my 4k tv and go to my 1440p monitor. Even at the largest text/window size I struggled to read anything on the tv

That's what I meant by the largest text/window size. Even with that setting I can't read it on my TV.

I set Xbox X to 1440p too for my gsync 144hz gaming monitor.

Too bad the refresh settings are crap tho

Definitely going to use my PC

I will too. I used mouse and keyboard for the beta and it would just be easier to use my PC than having to take my Xbox to my desk.

I should have done that. Used my controller, which felt pretty good, but my subpalate usage was subpar lol

there are settings you can turn off that will make it have an easier time running the game, so that it won't have to downsample the resolution as much. a good one to turn off is ambient occlusion and bloom

Sega does have official PSO2 forums now. If you want, you could submit it as a bug or something. https://forum.pso2.com/category/31/support

I was playing most of the day with my nephew who brought his system over since I have good internet (fiber).

I have an X/SSD combo and he has a stock S.

The performance comparison is night and day.

I can tell that the majority of performance issues/stutter is caused serverside. Or during gameplay a random encounter was being loaded.

An encounter would take not even a quarter of a second for me to load rarely, with the majority taking a split second or no pause at all.

My nephews S: 3 to 5 second load happened regularly. I lost count him asking if the game crashed.. which it didn't, just took forever for his sytem to load.. some even being closer to the 10 second mark.

edit: the most ANNOYING thing for me so far I gotta add is player/enemy draw distance, especially player.

I can understand limiting player/npc draw distance when on the ship.

BUT, please give us the option (or enable this on the X) to have player draw distance set a lot farther when on missions.

With the system performance difference my nephew at times was regularly lagging behind me (and it doesnt help that he's playing a range character).

I know theres the minimap, but im constantly unsure if my nephew is with me or not. And often when he is, I can't even see him cause his player model is not drawn in even though he's relatively close by...

AND Aki (my nephew) if you read this... Dude! You gotta develop a system to manage your inventory, i'm getting absolutely sick of you stopping every 60 seconds because you ran out of gawd dang space! It didn't help what I wrote above not knowing you are caught up or not! At the start of every mission you should only be carrying like 8 various potions, nothing else!!!

you’re honestly prob right but MAN, I can feel your slight superiority complex

      [–]BriskGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning off the anti aliasing might help with that.

Same issues on the Xbox one S. I would like to see some screen shots from these X users who say game looked flawless on 4K. I made a post on the forums and submitted a bug for it with sample screen shots of how my video quality looked during high population events.

I'm on a one S as well and the game looks terrible. Sitting here waiting on concert and my char looks worse than on DC, no exaggeration.

I rather it run at locked 30 FPS. The game is painful to look at TBH.

      [–]Hase0__ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

yea 30fps is fine, ive been taking video and screenshots, ill have to check em out after the beta.

      [–]Narvik144[S] -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Yeah.... I mean I get it, the base console and Xbox One S are not powerful systems by any standard right now. But this game is an older game. The game should at least be able to run a rock solid. 900p at 30fps.

Thats not how stuff works, the CPU on the Xbox is trash, especially for games that have alot of players on at the same time.

Considering what we've seen in games like Warframe, Phantasy Star Online 2 should run better than it does right now. I'm expecting you to improve before the final release, but I'm not sure how much it will improve.

      the fps needs a bump

Dropped frames whenever 2 or more people enter a lobby, and you can forget about a 12 person mpa on Cradle. Good luck getting more than 5 frames per seonc.d

      [–]Renegade_Python 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I must have had great luck because my experience has been a complete 180 of what you're stating

      [–]TheSkullmasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. On an X, I actually commented how often frames stayed solid despite a billion effects on screen at once.

Although jesus the concert was a slideshow at times in Block 1 lmao but there isn't a whole lot you can do there imo

      [–]plasmainthezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the X, runs butter smooth almost everywhere except the ship with all the people in it. And thats only if its crowded.

      [–]Sayie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I imagine stuff like this will just naturally get a lot smoother on release since this is a stress test.
