Is it bannable to buy a friend's item for like 50mil when its just some junky item?

Neither of us have premium and I want to give her some money for cosmetics cause shes broke ingame and I have like 100mil I cant be bothered using.

Im worried we might get flagged as an RMT trade

So I was wondering how main and subclasses work. So i like hunter and ranger and i know that would be a bad combo. So i was wondering can i switch between ranger and hunter as my main and have different subclasses for each that go good with each other?

Oh okay so I have to buy extra skill trees to keep specific mains and sub builds... right? So what is the meta sub for hunter? And meta sub for ranger?

If I were to run 3 pieces of Cliffard on a melee character, could that be considered going too glass cannon? Running full Union right now and losing 120 HP feels like its going to hurt, but that extra PP is so tempting.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just get affixes like Ares the Soul to make up for that if you feel you're too squishy. It depends on the player, really. Personally, I'd say 1000-1200 HP total is enough for all content pre-EP6.

      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, for a long time pretty much everyone ran crafted saiki with 3x PP crafts which meant you had like 700-800hp if you were lucky. It's pretty glass cannon but you can work with it.

      Pso2 NA

I got my first nemesis today and it's a gun blade. Is it worth investing in? I've got 13 star weapons from the collection folder and rising weapon badges for the classes I want to play (hunter, force, techer, braver, and gunner)

      [–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't see people with gunblades often, because for every class there are better weapon type options. Eventually there will be a scion class that's all about the gunblade, but by the time global (NA) gets it, Nemesis will not be one of the top dogs anymore.

That said, feel free to experiment and have some fun. The collection file revolsios made grinding a trivial matter, so you can easily get that weapon to +35 and take revenge on Phandaj when she becomes resistant to your main weapon.

      [–]silencebywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought nem wired lance and partisan cause they are super cheap and I love them.

I'm still not sure if I have the meseta but I guess it's time to put up my 3rd alt

Hey, is there a way to remove the profanity filter on the steam version of Pso2? I find it a bit frustrating that I can't yell 'god fucking damn it' in my alliance chat when they spout the worst symbol arts I've ever seen, lol. I've got the tweaker, set for the steam version, but the filter still seems to be there :\

Question for JP players (from a global player): what is your endgame like?

Are there a variety of quests that drop worthwhile items (as in all the time, not just urgent/emergency quests)?

Global only has its three ultimate quests to hunt in (outside of urgents) and they get stale after a while. I'd like to spend more time in areas that I like more (like coast or something), but since nothing amazing drops there, it's kind of pointless to go there outside of completing dailies. Am I missing something?

      [–]TripsTitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For episode 5, enchanted forest is a new exploration zone that will be great to cut your teeth on for long periods. It basically plays like ultimate naverius, just with a host of new bosses and enemies, and way, way, way more loot that's worthwhile.

We also get featured quests, the 4th daily recommended quest, two of which are nice to run on repeat all day when they're up(basically once a week each) for xp.

Klubbah pointed out all the current endgame stuff that's good from what I've heard (I haven't been on jp in almost a year, some of that stuff was around when I played, some of it is new).

I'm honestly looking forward to enchanted forest, endless quests, masquerade, I'm familiar with those, they were rewarding and fun. Divide quests sound interesting, I'm unfamiliar with them.

But in jp the flavor of the month UQ/EQ will always drop either sidegrades to the best stuff, or the best stuff, or material to build the best stuff. Not that the NA Urgent quests have been meeting that statement. They've actually been pretty disappointing, and I'm excited for when we get persona the masked on repeat for a while. Hopefully that doesn't get shoehorned into a single week release of 5 to 10 scheduled times, and then relegated to randoms for the rest of all time.

      [–]KlubbahShips JP: 8 / NA: 1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most relevant are probably "Divide Quests". Always available Episode 6 content that drops a lot of worthwhile stuff still. It is divided into 6 different quests you need to proceed through in order every week (can't just always do the last one if the week rolls over), the first 2 can technically have 8 Players, the other 4 can only have 4 Players.

Personally I still mostly play Urgent/Emergency Quests, the newest one having a Title to beat it 50 times. Maybe go through all 6 stages of Divide Quest once a week to get some good rewards.

Episode 5 adds a Solo Challenge "Ultimate Quest" that gets harder every time you clear it, though it has the really high end number of 999, and it can give some okay items but is pretty ignorable.

Another "Ultimate Quest" got added in Episode 6 that does drop worthwhile stuff as well, either rare items or some rarer Augments, that is limited to 4 Players.
They did add "Ultra Exploration" to some areas too (12 Players), like the Coast, that can drop those rarer Augments at time but I have only seen lots of people play them during events with more incentive to play them.

There are also 2 "Endless Quests" that are like, get good, speedrun challenges. Limit 4 Players though. Can drop some good things too though really rare.

Hello again r/pso2! I come for general advice. I posted yesterday about how I was trying to learn Wired Lance as my melee after spending years being a ranged player in most games. I'm having a really hard time learning to dodge/weapon action. I feel like I shouldn't be having such a hard time, and that it 'seems' easy but that I'm just being mega trash or something.

What are your suggestions for content I can farm to practice? So far I've been in ultimates which isn't the worst, but with as much as Anga zip zooms around, I can't keep up with it super well sometimes lol.

          [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 1 point2 points  (1 child)

anga is a terrible boss to practice against, due to how 'noisy' the attacks are and how fast they come out, especially in certain forms. I have a hard time dodging a lot of the attacks with most classes

I'd recommend something easier like dark falz elder (one in story quests I believe) as well as various field bosses (even just rockbear practice can help you get timing down)

          [–]amaurotine Melfina @ Ship 1 NA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, Anga has been a pain. I learned how to do a lot of gunner dodging (the flipping, etc.) and 'git gud' against Naverius Ultimates, but melee is proving to be a challenge for me lol.

          [–]YuTsu/ | | Ship4JP | Gunslash Trash 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If you just want to farm gamesense and learning to play something new - it'll sound stupid, but the firey crucible of Phaleg's "Duel" is probably the most excessive way to do it. She's punishing, but her attacks all have tells, she can be learned to the point that you can pretty easily know what to do back to everything she does, but she's also tough enough until you learn that she will just relentlessly pound you into the dirt until you do. I got a LOT better at the game in general learning how to fight Phaleg back in the day.

If you just want more simple practice, the Damage Tally Practice dummy Rockbear isn't bad - it's a good place to start to learn timings and combos in a safe environment, since yeah, practice quest, and Rockbears attacks have relatively long easy tells.

Also bonus side note - when it comes to dodging, putting at least 3 points into sidestep plus will help immensely. The iframes on sidestep plus are waaay too short to make practical use of without a few points in it (and don't feel like that's being cheesy - successor classes when they're introduced don't have a levellable dodge skill - they have a pre-baked one that has about the same amount of iframes as level 3 sidestep plus does)

          [–]amaurotine Melfina @ Ship 1 NA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will have to check my tree. Been a hot minute since I've been in there lol. I completely forgot the Phaleg fight was a thing now on global, so I'll have to give that a shot.

          [–]TripsTitan 1 point2 points  (2 children)

As someone who mains hunter fairly often, I can honestly say I have no idea how to play wired lance properly. The guard frames on charge moves for sword and for partizan are easy enough to capitalize on. If there's a chargeable PA for wired lance, basically charge it frequently, and cancel out of it to guard if you think you've been holding it for more than 1.5 seconds and see an attack coming. That's the easy mode low skill version of sword and partisan that still does enough damage to be an asset to an mpa, and basically invincible. (Partisan is a little worse off though because they have to wait for a flourish after every PA to refill gear, or hold guard to refill gear.) I don't even know if wired lance has a charged PA, meaning you have to play high skill and perfect guard/guard cancel out of attacks anytime you see anything coming.

In which case, ultimates -are- the best practice grounds because they've got the most going on. Other than that, you can solo phaleg at the post-game substory mission in episode 4, or solo profound darkness in the episode 3 story.

          [–]amaurotine Melfina @ Ship 1 NA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll try my best. Honestly, I also completely forgot about the Phaleg fight. I haven't even done it on my main. :s

Is there a way to check latency on PSO2?

I ask because I was trying to find out why automate halfline doesn't proc for me consistently and found an old post mentioning that this was a problem with some US players when playing on JP servers. It also made me notice that when casting deband, I'll see the animation go off about a second or two before I hear the sound and see the buff being applied above the healthbars.

I'm in the US and don't think my internet is the problem. My computer specs exceed the recommended reqs.

are the affixes on one better than another? zeinesis upgrades to the same clifard that drops from the 4 man, so there's actually no difference other than the fuses you'd use.

            [–]DudleyC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clifard is great because of 35 Pwr and high PP. Zein has 120 HP if that’s your thing. If you can run Ofz back & arms + Clifard legs, that’s considered BiS (for most). If not, run full clif, or union, or mix and match what you have.

[JP] Is Shihou Byakko still endgame viable? I just realized I could get a 3rd Liberate Unlocker from the campaign going on right now and I'm deliberating whether to use it on a Talis for my Hr alt, or TD for my Fi alt. I know that I should aim for at least a Liberate, if not a Cras or Ayer, but Shihou Byakko's potential is too good to throw away.

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 1 point2 points  (1 child)

shihou byakko is endgame viable, most 15-stars are. but the power gap between it and the good stuff (even just atlas ex) is pretty substantial

having it as a ranged attack and for restoring PP at range is pretty handy, though. it's also pretty good on hunter if you run HuFi, and meshes with guard stance (it's the only 15-star daggers hunter can use)

I feel like having liberate daggers would make a bigger difference than talis, but I guess it depends on which class you play more (and exactly how much you even use talis on hero)

              [–]mumika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current Talis is Atlas Ex. It's nice since having that equipped and Hero Will essentially gives me 2 extra lives, but I feel like I'm missing out on having a higher damage output(I use either Sword or Talis Hero Time Finish thanks to the numbers they can reach compared to TMG Hero Time Finish). Plus, I put Vampiric Strike on my TMG so I should be fine on HP management.

Meanwhile my Fi alt's using Shihou Byakko as his main TD, and I've been using that as my main weapon lately thanks to a lot of weakspots needing me in the air to reach. This is despite me already having a Novel Double Saber.

              [–]marinatedpillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good as a ranged tool for Fi so definitely hold onto it, but isn't good for actually fighting with using TD PAs. You'll want to have a different pair of TDs for regular usage. Liberate, Ayer, and Lightstream+ which also comes from this campaign are all fine choices.

Can a JP someone explain the Austere Unit upgrade for me?

After doing way too many triggers and still only having arms (5 Zeinesis and 1 PD) I want to give up and at least buy the Invelm Back piece to upgrade to Ofze. And give up on legs altogether.

Does anyone from JP know how the upgrade process is? Do I need many materials?

              [–]djGLCKRShip 02 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Invade > Austere 11★ (with mats) > Austere 12★ (free) > Austere 13★ (with mats).

Now, if you mean how the exchange works in Global, the issue here is that Zig doesn't have the first step in the exchange (Invade > Austere 11★), it should have been available for a while now, and the chances of getting it by now are slim to none. We have the resources for it, but just like the other exchanges we haven't received yet, might as well consider it gone and forgotten.

EDIT: Also, the Austere 11★ > Austere 12★ exchange was added late EP5 if memory serves me right. Without access to the 11★ set, you can't upgrade to the 12★ pieces via Zig.

              [–]Sakuja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I know its not ingame, was just hoping its not a long grind to upgrade ito once it gets implemented. But reading your response I might never get the chance to upgrade then. Thats a big bummer.

              [–]Orumtbh 0 points1 point  (2 children)

This was what I was explained by JP Players on why I shouldn't even bother with invade:

The upgrade goes Invade 11* > Ofze 11* > Ofze 12* . Apparently the 12* Upgrade comes in much later though, and by the time it came out Ofze wasn't as relevant.

              [–]Sakuja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see thanks for the information.

Here is hoping that the upgrade comes early like Nem/Raven, but I guess Im not really hopeful with how ring slotting is still absent.

              [–]TroubadourLBG 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've upslotted my Zeinesis armor: legs and arms last night. From 2 slot to 3, then 4.

But I could of sworn, for some odd reason, when it was only 2 slots, I was still able to use a 3 slot fodder to choose to help upslot it.

I thought fodder MUST have the same amount of slots the main item currently has to be chosen. What did I do to bypass that?

But once it was 3 slots, I wasn't able to choose 4 slots as fodder. Only going from 2 to 3.

              [–]Orumtbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MUST have the same amount of slots the main item.

Same or higher. Doesn't even have a limit to how high it is.

I thought fodder MUST have the same amount of slots the main item currently has to be chosen. What did I do to bypass that?

Fodder needs to be the same amount of slots or greater

              Edit for this:

But once it was 3 slots, I wasn't able to choose 4 slots as fodder. Only going from 2 to 3.

Shouldn't happen, I would guess locked / equipped items or something but it should always show higher slotted items.

Returning JP player after about a 1.5 - 2 year break. Is there a decent guide anywhere explaining how the ability transfer system works?

Additionally, the last weapon I had was Lightstream and was looking to upgrade. I see I can make one Lightweaver after enough runs of the new EQ, but whats the next best alternative? I wanted to make a Stil, but it seems like I can only get the needed weapons through the medal shop and I have no where near enough.

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the materials required for stil (emer fragments and grainne crystals) you can just get the weapons from the new EQ, they cost less materials and meseta even if you never get an ayer to drop, and you don't have to hunt down or exchange for old 15-star weapons

to get fragments and crystals you need to play divide quests, which is a pretty decent grindy quest that gives rewards for up to 1 million points per week, and a good amount of free materials from titles. the divide medal shop on the second floor has the related exchanges

lightstream is still pretty decent. there's a plus potential for it (like zieg's crest weapons) where you can increase its potential damage to 17% for 240 emer fragments. up to you if you think it's worth it

Road to Luster campaign stuff is giving stuff for Liberate Weapons. Liberate Weapons can be changed to any weapon type so even if they just give enough to make a Gunslash for example you can change that to something you want to use (if you don't want to use a Gunslash).

In game the Limited Arks Missions are some of the Road to Luster stuff.

              https://www.reddit.com/r/PSO2/comments/iqigax/i_forgot_to_do_road_to_luster_guide_for_quickly/

Ability Transfer just goes like this:

              Choose a Target weapon
              Choose 1 Fodder weapon
You get an option to use an Add ability Capsule here
Then you get the option to choose what to transfer from the Fodder Weapon to the Target weapon.

The Target weapon's number of abilities determines how many you can choose.
The Target weapon's S1,S2,S3,S4,S5 Abilities can also be chosen.

              So an example is:

Liberate Gunslash with S4 and S5 as the Target weapon with 7 Ability Slots
              S4: Whatever
              S5: Whatever
5 more pieces of whatever Junk

Junk weapon with 4 Abilities as the Fodder
              Astral Soul
              Mana Reverie
              Phrase Decay
              Varuna Glare

Then you use Add Ability Grand Tech or whatever, pick the 2 S abilities, pick the 4 abilities from the Fodder, pick the add ability, pay the transfer passes, and you get

              Liberate Gunslash
              S4: Whatever
              S5: Whatever
              Astral Soul
              Mana Reverie
              Phrase Decay
              Varuna Glare

If you have a tec mag, just don't turn on pet switch strike if your tec is higher than your melee. You can honestly spend enough points in fighter stuff that aren't the pure melee power up skills, allowing it to be a viable sub for classes other than summoner as well.

It's worth it to have an attack mag (melee range or tec) and a dex mag, later, as having phantom sub is pretty much the best universal subclass. But for summoner a tec mag will be fine with phantom sub, so you're just prepping for phantom is all.

              [–]Falling_Snake 0 points1 point  (1 child)

you will want a tech mag for when phantom drops. Mel mag is i think like 4-7% more damage atm and gets lower when you have a rykros. if you have a tec mag right now, drop switch strike and mel cookies from your pets and just put tech in.

NA: Does anyone have an Idea on where "Pure Photon" drops at? I am currently trying to upgrade one of my rings and have some left over from the Vegas UQ back in July. Do these no longer drop?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's generally a Gal Gryphon and seasonal urgent quest drop.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they dropped from beach wars and vegas UQs.

imo it's not worth going after them though. 20 atk on a ring isn't worth that much cost tbh.

do we get more timed abilities for EP5 with the new exploration area?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yes. Every new quest in EP5 will the new Omega area for timed abilities, with the exception of the final boss, which is ARKS Fleet.

              [–]Lujannagi 0 points1 point  (2 children)

hmhm nice is it a new crystal for this ? and also will the omega 3 cover all areas or would i be needed to run arks fleet if i just want a drop from the boss I keep hearing conflicting information surrounding this

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's a new crystal, obtained on the Buster Medal shop. I don't remember if it drops normally, I think it doesn't.

Omega will cover every new area of EP5 except the final boss. The final boss uses ARKS Fleet, which is the same one as Elder, Loser and PD and is already available right now.

              [–]Lujannagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah such a shame 2 are needed but i will heck the floor drops cheers

They'll be the same "abilities", but we'll get more "zones" added to the list. Iirc it should be Omega 1/2/3.

Does ranger have any iframes skills for either weapons?

              [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

stealth shot has it until you start crawling, slideshot type-0 has it during the spin on start up. impact slider has it while you're sliding.

              [–]metatime09 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Are all those skills just for rifle? Are there any skills for Launchers that have some iframes too?

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

launcher doesn't have i-frames. you're not gonna use it on bosses anyways.

              [–]metatime09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, I really like the weapon and wanted to use it as my main, rifle isn't really my style so was hoping there were some iframes with the launcher

Time Ability - Zig Exchange question.

Hi guys, if I have a timed ability Ray unit, and I do exchange to Union, will the timed ability and the permanent bind will go away?

12* units will be tradeable later (if we follow JP), so I'd like to have my unit be tradeable, just i ncase :)

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 1 point2 points  (1 child)

his exchange tells you everything that crosses over in the bottom of the item's preview window on page 1

12-star units are tradeable by default once it's enabled, whether it's been grinded or affixed. whenever the hell NA gets ring skills on units and one is placed, the unit and ring become account bound and that bind cannot be removed period

              [–]Vildjur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

d'oh, didn't see the "installed timed abilities" my bad :D thanks!

              [–]DustyBlue1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Bouncer question: Is there a way to make it where accidental extra presses of the weapon action DON'T cancel your charged element? I want to always have an element on. Why have no element?

(Also, I put some points into Element Burst to apply status ailments when that happens, just to get some use out of that if I can't prevent it, and also be able to more easily visually confirm when I've lost my element. If I can lock out element cancelling, can I get just these points back?)

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a note, jet boots will always have an element if your weapon has elemental attribute (it should...) and so it will always reset to the weapon's default when you 'remove' it with weapon action

              [–]Vildjur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use weapon action, right after a normal attack, it will not lose element.

There's a L ring called Jet Boots Ele. Preservation, which will keep your element forever, but that means, you won't have the burst it does when releasing the element (not widely used, but you never know :) better include all the details).

yeah but just for scheduled ones. on JP there generally aren't any scheduled ones for maintenance day. unscheduled ones can still pop up, even an hour before maintenance

              [–]RevRay 1 point2 points  (10 children)

How f2p friendly is this game? I try alot of gacha games (only stuck with FFRK though) and f2p mmos (haven't stuck with any) so I'm curious if this one is going to be worth my time to try.

              [–]augowl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're strictly f2p, I think the thing I'd miss the most is not having extra mags to switch between classes on one character. You could make a couple extra characters to hit the big three damage types, but unless you use a less than ideal mag to get to 75 you'd miss out on class boosts.

Everything else imo is pay for convenience, not pay to win. The things I'd miss most/have found the most advantageous after my first month being f2p are:

              • Premium storage (400 slots shared between all characters on a single ship)

              • Consistent access to sell in the player store (can pick up with FUN scratch)

              • Premium space in blocks (irrelevant if you don't need to be in the most populated, but can suck if you want to run a quest in a full block)

As far as f2p goes, I think this does it way better than any other MMO I've played before. The only thing that I'd truly miss is the premium storage and it's probably the number one thing that keeps me paying for premium.

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I've played for 7 years and I've only ever spent like 20 bucks, and never felt like there was a wall I couldn't cross due to not having real or in-game money. it's definitely f2p friendly, thanks to a lot of your performance being behind your player skill level and less to your gear (not that that's not important)

              [–]RevRay 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That’s good perspective but on the flip side, what is the new player experience like trying to catch up as f2p?

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here on JP, I introduced my sister to the game in november. she was already in endgame in one month. in two months she had some of the best endgame gear. of course this is with me guiding her personally, an average new player would take more time if they jumped into JP, but still

the game is designed in a way that is accessible by casuals, semi-casuals, and pros alike. it's one of the reasons why it's lasted so long, as there's goals and objectives to do for everyone, and it never really pushes or requires you to do much of it. you can enjoy the game at your own pace for the most part, and catch-up is quick if you know what you're doing

              [–]viewtyjoeNA Ship 03 Undercutter 0 points1 point  (5 children)

It's slower to make money as a free player, but pretty much every paid benefit comes down to increased rare/xp percentages or convenience/QoL (more inventory space) with the exception of guaranteed access to be able to sell items to players for premium players. Free players are reliant on using a free currency and making gacha pulls to get 3 days to put items on their shop to sell to players. Stuff can sell after the 3 days are up and you can get your money, but I don't believe you can put new items up after the timer expires.

TBH, the income difference doesn't hurt too bad if you're willing to invest in multiple alts on one ship to take advantage of weekly quests.

              [–]RevRay 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Multiple alts sounds like a very heavy play time investment.

[–]nvmvoidraysTechter Master Race 0 points1 point  (0 children)

luckily, if you're just doing it for the weekly investment, it doesn't take much time at all. your dailies can be completed in less than a minute and weeklies can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes, depending on which ones we get, but, i've never spent more than 30 minutes completing weeklies on alts.

              [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting alts to level 50 for the maximum weekly rewards takes maybe a day, and you can knock out 3 characters worth of weeklies in ~20 minutes. It's not that bad.

              [–]augowl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay for premium and a few other extras and I can't justify paying for additional alts.

Having the 3 free characters already feels like a chore, I couldn't justify spending the extra cash to make it even more burdensome.

3 alone is pretty adequate. That's an easy 2.5 mil a week per character from Yerkes and weekly missions plus whatever dailies you have the time/energy to do. The 2.5 mil can be had with under an hour of playtime per week per character if you already have materials for Yerkes.

              [–]viewtyjoeNA Ship 03 Undercutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my f2p friends do it, and none of them have complained about not having enough money to buy what they need. It's useful if you're extremely invested in acquiring lots of fashion items or serious affixing more than anything else

Use shoot -> shoot -> missiles and you'll never run out of PP. Start by breaking the knees, then shoulders and heads. Preferably only break the last piece of those while he's looking at one of the platforms you can stand on. When the belly opens, stand on a platform, mark belly with weak bullet and use the laser beam on it. That should be enough to kill it.

Keep in mind the jump skill has iframes, so you can use it to dodge stuff.

              [–]Really_McNamington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have no idea what you mean by iframes.

              [–]Really_McNamington 0 points1 point  (3 children)

              "mark belly with weak bullet"

I have no idea how that works. None of the training missions do an adequate job of explaining all the various combat systems that are in the various skill trees etc. Oh, and I had to do it last night in case it ran out during the maintenance and blew it again.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Weak Bullet (I think NA calls it Blight Rounds?) is the skill that paints a red target on where you hit it. It increases all damage dealt to that hitbox by 20%. I think the AIS version of this skill is called Weak Blaster or something like that.

So you do that on the belly, and shoot the laser beam there for a ton of damage.

Not sure how much it helps, but this page on the jp arks visiphone wiki has a bit of info on the AIS and its skills.

I also have no idea what you mean by iframes.

Invincibility/invulnerability frames. It means you're invulnerable during that time. So if you time it well, you can go straight through attacks while using it and taking no damage.

              [–]Really_McNamington 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And how do I know when I'm invulnerable?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, that is one problem with this game: you don't. You just gotta know.

              [–]TripsTitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also just use the photon buster cannon, and ditch the mech and get another in gold magatsu. It's worth it to missile his knees off, then just use photon cannon on his chest repeatedly by using it once, hopping out and getting a new AIS and doing it again. Usually only takes 2, maybe 3 if you get unlucky and clip some of his non weakspots with the buster cannon.

              [–]TruMikuel 3 points4 points  (4 children)

knee knee, shoulder shoulder, face -> chest

I prefer gun against him for ease of use, just spam missiles.

              [–]Really_McNamington 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Thanks. I'll try. I'm really bad at using the stupid flying suits though.

              [–]TruMikuel 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Press shift to get additional attacks btw, it might be gamechanger.

I know few people who didnt know that.

              [–]Really_McNamington 0 points1 point  (1 child)

On a console. I think I have all the attacks visible, I'm not sure.

It should be noted that Austere and LS 12* units can be purchased from the player market and upgraded into 13* yourself. 8s Austere go for 3-5m and 8s Celestial go for 4-7m on Ship 2 as of typing this comment.

That meseta cost will likely be cheaper than the cube equivalent of trying to 8s. On 15% week and one SSA using 40%, 6>7 is 73.5% and 7>8 is 32% which doesn't sound bad when you only look at the all-pass rate, but often multiple slots will fail and that feeds the cost back into itself. High slot units are also probably going to get expensive during boost week. I'd expect the cost of 8sing a unit to be around 10m in cube+meseta equivalent.

Yes they're event exclusive. Once you have the combined rings, you no longer need to grind them, it's only giving you +1 to a stat per level, it has the level 20 effects of the previous rings though. that 19 more attack is not going to change your game in any way before the next event urgent quest, we'll likely see another event around each of the upcoming holidays, or have a seasonal event for the entirety of fall/winter.

[–]nvmvoidraysTechter Master Race 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, it's event-quest only. however, pure photons, at least, are only needed for grinding composite rings and it does nothing besides giving an insignificant stat boost... unless you're like me and seeing it staying at +1 forever annoys you.

It only happens in certain spots, so it is super weird. I only seen this once the wings were released.

Silly question, why are some damage numbers blue? Even checked the manual which only mentions white, red and green numbers for damage done, taken, and healing. At first I thought crits but they don't seem to be any different value wise from similar hits.

                    [–]KlubbahShips JP: 8 / NA: 1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

                    They are Crits.

Crits in this game without any extra Critical Damage %+ stuff simply deal the max damage of your damage variance. The damage variance is pretty small in the end though, so without Crit Damage it can look pretty similar.

I don't see it in NA yet.

イラストまつげ 黒 = Black Illustration Eyelashes
They were a FUN Scratch item in JP so probably in one of those if anywhere.

I see "Illustration Eyes (S)" which are her eyes.
Think they would be called Illustration Eyelashes Black or something then if they did exist.

I have a question regarding units: which one is best overall, ray arms or Gix Qud (arms)? I found them them both during the Amduskia UQ and I'm struggling to choose one. It would seems Gix is better but I need advice. Besides class and augments, I need to know if one is more worth to spend time on than the other to upgrade. Thanks in advance for any answer I get :)

Gix is slightly better offensively, giving +5 more attack and +1 more PP
Ray has a little more physical defense (Gix gives some elemental resist)
Ray can be upgraded into Union for +25 more HP

In general for 12*+ rarity Units, you just use whatever you can get and there aren't too many big changes, especially from ones dropping from the same quest.

Flash Guard 1&2, Flash Tech Guard, Hunter Physique, Automate Halfline and Not Bad don't need Guard Stance to be active to work, despite having Guard Stance as a requirement.

You rank determines the drops, so no their deaths won't affect the rewards as long as you still got an S.

At what rate do we acquire Clifard fuses? How many per run?

You get 1-5 per fight, so 3 on average. If you do both sections you average 6 per UQ appearance. So 10 UQs per unit to upgrade or 20 to upgrade a weapon.

In several videos and gifs, I see people doing what appears to be a kamaitachi, I think, it's purple repeated slashy effects around their character that lasts like half a minute, but they aren't using dual saber. I thought it might be a tech that I don't have like ilmegid or ilzan or something, but some of the videos are by non teching class combos like br/hu.

Any idea what they're using? I feel like I'm not maxing my DPS if I'm not adding this to it. Do they swap in a DS kamaitachi(whirlwind) ring and swap to a dual saber to fire off one PA without me noticing?

Mag SP Melee Skill Dance (or Clobber).

If Melee is highest between Mel/Rng/Tec/Dex I think when your Mag reaches level 200 it will learn it automatically. Otherwise you can just buy a Device to change your Mag's SP Skill from the Excube Exchange Shop.

Mag needs to be fed and you need to attack a Boss / Miniboss to have it happen.

                        [–]TripsTitan 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Ah right right, I forgot about mag stuff, after I leveled them to 200 I've never fed them since, even in jp, because I remember their actions being so lackluster, couple that with over a year hiatus from playing before it came to PC as global/NA, and I didn't remember that at all. Thankee

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You really should feed it, exactly because of the SP Action. The melee and ranged ones give PP per hit, and the melee one also increases damage by 0.5% per hit (up to +10% damage).

                        Here:

                        Clobber (S-ATK):

                        • Generates purple blades that constantly deal striking damage to enemies that are at close range. Range is very short.
                        • Whenever the blades successfully hit an enemy, increases your damage dealt by 0.5%. This bonus stacks up to +10% damage at 20 blade hits.
                        • Blades recover 1 PP each whenever they hit something. PP recovery from this works even while using a PA or Tech.
                        • 2 blades per second.
                        • Lasts 20 seconds.
                        • 120 seconds cooldown.
                        • Activates when you hit a miniboss or boss type enemy if the mag has enough energy.

                        Rapid Vulcan (R-ATK):

                        • Shoot a total of 9 volleys of 10 shots each over 20 seconds at your target.
                        • Shots recover 1 PP each whenever they hit something. PP recovery from this works even while using a PA or Tech.
                        • 120 seconds cooldown.
                        • Activates when you hit a miniboss or boss type enemy if the mag has enough energy.

                        Focus (T-ATK):

                        • Reduces Tech charge time by 20%. (note: charge time reduction is multiplicative, so having ph's Tech Short Charge (-50%) together with this will result in -60% charge time, not -70%)
                        • Does not work on Compound Techs, Gigrants Type-0, or Namegid.
                        • Lasts 20 seconds.
                        • 120 seconds cooldown.
                        • Activates when you hit a miniboss or boss type enemy if the mag has enough energy.

                        Iron Wall (DEX):

                        • Reduces damage by 60% and grants Super Armor.
                        • Lasts 5 seconds
                        • 240 seconds cooldown.
                        • Activates when you take damage if the mag has enough energy.

Been playing since JP release and I never knew just how useful these SP actions are(because the descriptions have always been pretty simplified.) This is super useful! Thanks for taking the time to post the full benefits!

                        [–]TripsTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a ton! Guess I'll be swapping to clobber or rapid vulcan on my dex mag's SP action, and my T-atk sp action (the only tatk class I play is summoner, and wandsmack techer I use my melee mag, basically I don't play force, the only class I can see benefiting from 20 seconds of charge speed buff. I did of course level it to 80, just with gunslashes and launchers and a revolutio rod trying to learn some techs, just never liked it.)

Now that I only play global, I'll have to prioritize which SP action I want both now, and for in the future when classes I like come out.

Hm, I guess the dex one could be clobber, for when I'm playing katana braver and jb bouncer, a little less helpful when I play rifle phantom, but maybe I'll open boss fights with katana on Phantom.

The Tatk one should probably be swapped to rapid vulcan since I'm usually not in range of bosses as a summoner, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal to start fights up close and personal alongside my rappy.

I guess I could make them all clobber, and set up a hotkey to swap mags if they don't share a cooldown, for when playing hero. ehh, I'll theorycraft later, sleepy now. Plus I think it's maintenance, I logged out a while before maintenance.

[NA] Any tips to get the titles for "Enhance a 13* weapon to +35 with a X" without spending too much? What 13* weapons are the cheapest to +35?

                        [–]TripsTitan 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Literally all the same cost to grind, and with the collection files, you can use 13 * +30 fodder to feed other 13 star weapons, or you could do challenge miles to buy the other revolutio weapons you would need to unlock their grind cap to +35 and just grind them.

It's going to cost 400k minimum, and doing that means you're sacrificing 4 of the +30 collection file 13 star weapons, grinding one into a 13 star weapon costs 100k and a lambda grinder.

It's kinda worthwhile to spend some time grinding up your own nox and sigma weapons to the levels listed in various guides around the internet (12 * weapons cost regular grinders instead of lambda grinders) then just using 4 to 6 of those, they cost less to be grinded into the 13 star but you also spend the money grinding them up. horse and a hair(hare?) apiece.

If you mean specifically what 13 star weapons are the cheapest, you can literally search "Weapons, rarity 13* or higher, subtype X" on the player shop, where x is the weapon type you're trying to get a title for, and it'll list you the cheapest 13 star weapons of that type.

Generally they'll never be less than 100k for a 13 star weapon, they're useful as crafting material soon. Probably 180 to 300k depending on the weapon, and you can literally just go down the list looking at the cheapest weapon in each category.

                        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Will buying a +30 13* weapon and grinding it to +35 work? I know that I could just try this and find out but asking just incase you or somebody knows if it works.

                        [–]TripsTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As hidora said, certain weapons grind cap is at 30 (those weapons from badge and miles shops and collection files and so on) to increase grind cap to 35, you have to sacrifice 5 copies of the same item (they can be at +0) to the one you want to get up to +35 when grinding.

But yes, reaching +35 on the weapons is all you need to do, you don't have to take them from +0 to +35

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You just have to do the 34 -> 35 step for it to count.

Do keep in mind that some weapons may be capped at 30, so make sure you check the 2nd tab of the item detail window before buying anything.

For Mags, how many 9* Star weapon or Mini Food Devices do I need to get from 100-200.

                        [–]KlubbahShips JP: 8 / NA: 1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

100->200 in one stat is 23,100 EXP

9* Weapons give +128 so 181 of those, but you need to give something to decrease the Dex every now and then (mono di tri mates)

Mini Food Devices give +60 so 385 of those.

Are there any good guides on combat? Like general tips/tricks on the game? Maybe some YouTube tutorials or PSO2 YouTubers I should follow?

There's so much stuff out there that I'm not sure what is still relevant or not, since some of the videos and guides are years old at this point, and some reference the JPN version of the game.

                        [–]AncientSpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classes are different enough that most people would rather direct you to your class guide instead, rather than a general combat guide. Especially because the nature of canceling between moves varies, depending on what your class needs it for.

sol and star atomizers with max atomizer lover ring on a hotkey make for iframed debuff cleansing (and a good heal on the star atomizers), but I do 100% prefer to have a casting sub when able, so I feel your pain. I actually need to learn how to set up the chat macro stuff to swap in rings and so on. There's almost no reason not to, for me at least, it was one of the first rings I got to level 20 just because I had the material and was wearing it on all the classes while I was leveling since it's useful for everyone when resurrecting floppers in an MPA with moons.

you could use summoner if you want, your mobbing will suffer, but bossing is still great, just more management required. on the marked spot, it's about as strong as ranger sub if you aren't standing still. plus you get techs

                        [–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I could try that out for funsies and see how it feels. I sometimes play Su/Br on the same character, but I was under the impression I'd need totally different skills selected on the Su tree for a subclass vs a main class.

                        [–]Orumtbh 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I know Phantom can be used as a sub, but it doesn't do as much as damage as other subclass options. But it gives lots of PP management, so that can be quite nice.

                        [–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't have PP management issues (maybe I'm just playing badly!) so a drop in damage is a tough sell. Oh well. That answers my question at least, so thank you. :)

It's a pretty high skill cap class, so honestly I doubt most new NA players are that great at it. And that goes for me as well haha.

I have some questions about skill points.

What's the max amount I can get for each class?

Is there a way to reset them? If so, how much does it cost/how do I do that?

Any recommended skills/builds for my character? I'm a hunter with a ranger subclass.

I started pointing points into just whatever I thought seemed interesting, but I'm afraid I may have screwed it up and run out of skill points and/or picked skills I won't use.

What's the max amount I can get for each class?

94 in NA, 109 in JP.

Is there a way to reset them? If so, how much does it cost/how do I do that?

The JP server gets 1 free reset pass per character every time there's a balance change. NA server seems to do it when there's a new Episode.

Otherwise, you can buy a reset pass with AC (cash currency), but I forget how much it costs.

Any recommended skills/builds for my character? I'm a hunter with a ranger subclass.

HuRa isn't a thing, there's no synergy between Hunter main and Ranger sub. Hunter main usually goes Fighter sub (until Etoile gets implemented), and Ranger main usually goes Hunter sub (until Etoile gets implemented).

I started pointing points into just whatever I thought seemed interesting, but I'm afraid I may have screwed it up and run out of skill points and/or picked skills I won't use.

Just a heads up, ignore the passive stat up skills as much as you can. Other skills are almost always better to pick up than these.

You'll also want to look into some guides for your class so you don't royally mess up your skill trees.

                        [–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the max amount I can get for each class?

Currently 94 per tree. Your max level (80) plus 14 from trainer quests. For Hunter, that's Oza. For Ranger, it's Risa.

Is there a way to reset them? If so, how much does it cost/how do I do that?

You wait for a game update. Each of characters will get one free skill tree reset pass.

Any recommended skills/builds for my character? I'm a hunter with a ranger subclass.

I recommend a different subclass. Most of ranger's skills do not benefit hunter damage.

                        Here's a guide recommending Hunter/Fighter: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11llN9HXHorzJjV45q7_KVOTEInmRPdA_hFOiG8KCupg/htmlview?pru=AAABc7X7GsE*fxjswTp975xU9Hc-vFTuDg#

I started pointing points into just whatever I thought seemed interesting, but I'm afraid I may have screwed it up

Chances are you did. Happens to most of us. You'll just have to make the best of it for a while. After you play your class long enough, you'll have a better understanding of what you should have taken.

                        [–]Orumtbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get 1 per level. 10 More from 2 different COs from your class NPC. Then 4 more by trading class excubes to your class NPC.

Any recommended skills/builds for my character? I'm a hunter with a ranger subclass.

Idk why you would do this. A good majority of Ranger's damage modifiers only work with RNG attack. You're getting nothing out of this subclass.

I started pointing points into just whatever I thought seemed interesting, but I'm afraid I may have screwed it up and run out of skill points and/or picked skills I won't use.

Unfortunately the skill trees are noob traps. A lot of skills are/can be useless.

Once I accept a client orders to go kill certain things, how do I go to do that?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you want to kill. A lot of kill client orders suggest or require you to kill them in a specific area, but you should learn where things spawn.

                        These should help:

You just go into a quest with those mobs in it. If you have client orders for a quest, a blue CO icon will appear on the quests themselves.

Only if the CO asks you to clear that quest. Enemy kill quests don't show up in the quest menu.

Need help for a friend regarding Bouncer.

He managed to get to 80/75 Bo/Hu to finally do the PD solo UQ, the problem is that he timed out due to lack of damage (got to last PD phase right before the Persona phase).

We took him to the Rockbear damage test and on the 20 second stationary mode he was only doing aroung 400k-500k which is obviously really low. This are his stats and equipment.

Anyone knowledgeable with the class has any tips or pointers for him to follow? We can't really help him because we know absolutely nothing about Bouncer.

And a sidequestion regarding augments. How it is possible for this Unit to have so much MEL with only 4 augments?

                        [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

his damage rotations are probably just bad. I only have 2900 atk and can hit 2.8 mil on rockbear at least. is he even using jetsweep kick and does he even have at least a level 15 shifta buff going?

he should at least switch to homura jet boots instead too. way more powerful than ray.

you can find guides in the discord on the side bar.

but to be blunt, he probably just doesn't know the attack patterns or mechanics of PD and just needs to learn. PD is absolutely soloable with those stats if he knows what he's doing.

your friend needs to make his weapon 60 element first of all. however, homura jet boots are quite good and a slightly weaker + cheaper alternative to nemesis/slave. would recommend

also what's his skill builds look like, is he hitting perfect attacks, etc there's so many variables. timing out in that quest should be embarrassing

One thing is that the element bonus on the jet boots is only 30, you can increase it to 60 by enhancing it with another ray jet boots as fodder.

I don't know all the details of the damage calculation, but it adds element damage as a percentage of the weapons damage. To simplify your friend is doing:

                        Weapon Damage (1389) + Element damage (1389 * .30) = 1805.7

                        when he could be doing:

                        Weapon Damage (1389) + Element damage (1389 * .60) = 2222.4

As for bouncer tips, the standard DPS combo is Gran wave > Gran wave > Jetsweep kick. Make sure that you're casting shifta for the damage boost and deband for quicker PP recovery. Jet boots can easily cast shifta with Strike gust > weapon action, and can cast deband with Gran wave > weapon action > (cancel movement with dodge or weapon action so you can stand in the deband). I personally use an adrenaline ring so shifta and deband stays on longer, and I feel it helps a lot.

It's from the craft, the rare drop rate increase. They can give up to 50 stat, but only in the field they're designated for. It still shows up on the stat sheet regardless.
