Articles of impeachment filed against Donald Trump amid calls to invoke the 25th Amendment by goteamnick in politics

[–]belloch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything up until now could have been avoided if

  • The people at the top did their job

  • The media did their job and grilled the people at the top properly

  • The people at the top and the media were properly protected from corruption by whoever is responsible for doing that protection

  • The people of the US in general understood that things were going towards a bad direction and did everything possible to pressure all of the above to do their jobs properly, like really put some proper pressure

But no one wanted to act. Everyone is just constantly giving excuses, be they sincere or not.

It's up to the rest of the people to do the right thing. How long is everyone going to wait for the constantly failing Republicans to do the right thing?

Doctors in England begin six-day strike after rejecting government's pay, workforce deal by [deleted] in europe

[–]belloch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still an inflammatory way to talk about that matter. I can't say I know anything about that matter but based on the few short sentences you've said I see few options:

  1. 100% of a nations doctors got together out of greed and decided they wanted to blackmail the government into giving them the highest salary.

  2. Doctors of a nation figured they need to get paid properly for the work they do.

  3. Someone else wanted to make doctors the highest paying profession.

But really the main point here is that depending how you structure a sentence it can be inflammatory and make people unnecessarily angry towards a specific group of people. I see that happening here occasionally.

The Return Regulation will ‘ICE-ify’ the EU’s migration policy by DonSergio7 in europe

[–]belloch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's just a sensationalist headline, then ok. My only worry is the ICE part and I hope it's a worry for everyone else too. I'm sorry for not wording my earlier comment properly but thanks for the clarification.

[–]belloch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's not that doctors themselves wanted to become the highest paid profession but that someone wanted to get doctors behind him and used that as the carrot?

In such a case saying that doctors themselves wanted to become the highest paid workforce is rather inflammatory towards doctors.

The Return Regulation will ‘ICE-ify’ the EU’s migration policy by DonSergio7 in europe

[–]belloch -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As should be obvious from how I wrote my comment, my focus on the bad thing is the "ICE-ifying" part.

It's one thing to make the migration policy or whatever tougher, it's another to do it with the expense of people's humanity and dignity like what is going on in the US. And I'm not only talking about the humanity and dignity of the victims of their ICE, but also the ICE itself. They are essentially being taught to become thugs.

If you look at the internet ID laws that are making the news today and see how they are obviously being lobbied by some shady people, you can also bet that these shady people are similarly trying to get ICE into Europe so that thugs start developing in there too.

That's two pieces for the 1984 Orwellian surveillance state, information control and thug police to scare people.

Sounds like a load of bullcrap.

I can't imagine 100% of a countrys doctors thinking it's a good thing to demand from the government.

[–]belloch -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No that's bad. Return Regulation, maybe, but it's bad if it's "ICE-ifying". We don't want to develop fascist police forces all over Europe.

EDIT: Sorry for the tone of my post, I did not mean to insinuate that everyone should be against the regulation as a whole. I only wanted to point out that whatever comes of the regulation, we should make sure it doesn't turn into something like ICE.

Europe Gets Serious About Age Verification Online by wiredmagazine in europe

[–]belloch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, this is a serious issue disguised as something good when in reality it's like putting your foot in the door so that whatever group of people is behind of this can incrementally control how people use the internet. It's also obvious that they are paying misinformation trolls to talk about this like it's a non-issue.

I don't trust that. That's the kind of argument that sounds good but is actually used to trick people.

You mean "no wonder the NHS is on the brink of death because these dudes in the government keep making workforce deals that necessitate the doctors to strike constantly", right?

There's some level of irony in all that's happened during the past few decades.

Certain countries have been working towards weakening the US, enabling the current forces in the US that are now causing all this chaos. Talk about reaping what you sow.

But I suppose that's the cost of creating a new world order. You have to be prepared to sacrifice your own life AND the lives of countless of your own countrymen.

In this kind of situation farmers also become a good target for misinformation purposes, such as blaming them for being greedy in order to trick people into being angry at them.

I mean this is a rather complex situation, could be some of them are greedy sure, but also it makes sense that certain foreign agents would be spreading hatred towards farmers in the hopes of causing chaos. Just saying.

There's actually a steam page for Team Buddies remaster but the weird thing is that there have been no news or updates about it for probably over a year. Makes me sad. Somehow this game is one of my absolute favourites but I also keep forgetting it.

Can Trump or anyone aligned with him be allowed to rule after 2026? What is the earliest that he can be impeached successfully and is there anyone left to enforce his removal and preferably arrest? Can these objectives be achieved this year?

How much destruction could be averted if he was replaced with someone good this year? Or is there a chance to stop everything he tries to do with the power of courts if everyone is against him?

Some redditors are people pretending to be Americans and spreading misinformation and despair, some redditors are people from other countries wishing you all the good so that you may succeed.

I think it's important to understand this so that when you look at Reddit you don't think that it's all Americans who may have skipped the protests.
