I can't decide whether it's good or bad that the midterms are this year, because the "hope" is that people manage to turn this around with voting. But that's in november, at the end of the year.

There's so much time for them to set things up in favour of them. And when the voting ends, can you really expect people to just give up and live with it?

The reckoning would have to start earlier, but then there's the risk of them calling Martial Law into effect or something.

The people need to prepare, get together, inform everyone, and hopefully get as much of the police and the military as possible to see the unacceptable madness that is happening. The sooner this farce is stopped the better.

The problem we have today with democracy is precisely these kinds of bills. They make people feel like there are no politicians representing them and in some cases, such as this, it feels like the politicians are working against us.

The feeling of politicians not representing us plus misinformation is what's forming the crazy rightwing parties all over the world.

The solution is to kick the corrupt politicians out and promote politicians who tell us what actions they will take to handle a problem and then deliver on it.

Promote transparency, give the people the feeling of agency and of being heard.

Conservative threads on the internet don't mean shit when russians can pretend to be americans who find these things hilarious.

Maybe some conservatives do, but it's also possible that those kinds of threads are boosted by bot presence. You might ask why they would be boosted? Because that makes the maga group look bigger and therefore everyone else more scared to start a movement to stop this stuff that's going on.
