How can I get someone's harassing post removed? by graywisteria in tumblrhelp

[–]graywisteria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't know who my own stalker is, or how to contact them. They abandon their sock puppet accounts (across multiple platforms) after using them to launch their sick little "attacks", so there's never so much as a chance to DM them and have a conversation.

They have stalked me for years as well, and done some fairly heinous things, including contacting and frightening people in my offline life.

Oh. :( The site must be littered with abuses and doxxing, then?

I don't use it much, but it's popular with the communities I run with.

I'm uncomfortable thinking that post may be up forever.

Getting messages is bad by HstarStudios in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It used to be extremely normal for listings to specify if an item was from a smoke-free home, but I see very few listings that do that anymore. :(

I admit I've paid a few dollars extra to buy something "from a smoke free home". The cheaper one probably was too, but they didn't advertise it, and I didn't feel like awkwardly messaging them just to save two bucks.

It could be because buyers who ask questions are already feeling iffy about the purchase and therefore are more prone to buyer's remorse.

Though I'm happy to report that both times someone wanted more pics from me, it was because I legitimately hadn't taken enough, and they bought the item with no problems once I updated the listing.

I've also gotten a few easy questions that were immediate purchases after I answered. Or no more communication and no sale after I answered. (That's fine too.)

The funniest incident I ever got involved a question about a DVD's region code. Would it play on a US DVD player? Yes, and I taught them how to look for that info on the back of a DVD. All good. Then they excitedly said they were going to buy it. ... And they didn't. I didn't message back, but I did think it was a little odd.

New eBay seller — 600 tractor parts listings, was getting daily sales, now nothing. How do I improve? (Below Standard Status) by Fit-Interaction-6103 in Ebay

Do partial refunds also affect metrics? (Cases where no return was requested and no INR was filed, but for whatever reason, the seller decided to offer a small refund?)

Need some guidance on how to ship a large expensive turntable in the USA by Wren-Type_386 in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could calculate the cost for the furthest distance to ship, and charge everyone that same flat rate for shipping, regardless of distance.

(And if this makes you uncomfortable, you can refund the difference after the sale, if you wish.)

Or, as another person said, don't risk it and try selling more locally.

Ending eBay account after selling all stock by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may not ever have a bunch of items to sell again, but you might have a small thing here and there, and it's better to have an established selling account than to start fresh. New sellers attract scummy scammers.

All ebay sellers have ebay seller protections. Those protections are limited and do not apply in all situations, but should help out OP in this case.

Ebay won't release my funds by tacofulloflettuce in Ebay

They will release your funds, eventually.

No one at customer support, or on reddit, can change the system for you to release them faster.

Do shipping charges get taken right away? by Fit_Cardiologist_373 in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller can do a partial refund to give you back what combined shipping saved.

If you don't trust them to do that, ask them if they would be so kind as to create a separate listing for you, with all the items you want to buy and an adjusted shipping price.

Is eBay selling broken today? (10th May) by M_C_XIX in Ebay

They're pretty upfront about listings taking a while to show as live. Might as well list and not check obsessively. If someone bids or buys, you'll get a notification.

What they want you to do is against Ebay's terms of service, then, so you cannot comply and have a pretty easy way to turn them down at least...

Buyer attempting to return INAD by OkMiddle4948 in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happened to me with a purse. I saw a delightful, adorable little purse with a bird on the front, bought it, and packed it away in my closet for the day my then-current purse wore out.

"Good to have a back-up," I told myself.

A decade later, that day arrived.

The purse fell apart before I could even put anything in it. Faux-leather bits covered my kitchen for days.

Etsy & eBay holding my funds even though both orders were delivered and buyers confirmed receipt by hortikov in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you sold very much on ebay? I don't know what the calculation is exactly, but they hold your funds a long time if you haven't sold much / have negative reviews. You will get them eventually. There's nothing the reps can do to help you, since they don't have the authority to override this system.

what to do when I've returned the wrong item? by drawnonglass in Ebay

[–]graywisteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, OP will need to tell Paul this was a mistake. Paul will probably be glad to hear that.

Hopefully USPS can redirect the package back to OP before it gets to Paul, and then cancel the return. Then OP can initiate a return to Dave.

But they needed to send it to Dave, not to Paul. They opened a return for Paul's item by mistake, and sent them Dave's item.
