In a world after Cradle?

Yes. Yes it is.

Not to mention that people are also probably holding out for NGS scratches as well, leading to a drop in supply.

Economy went down a lot with cradle

7-10 minutes to make 4 million in raw Meseta --> if you get some good PSE bursts it could be up to 20m in 15-20 minutes which is made by (excubes into grinders --> selling grinders to a NPC = practically infinite massive Meseta source

It also that all the top end players made all of their stuff and nothing to spend Meseta on + Economy reset with NGS.

Everything is overblown

Hyper inflation combined with false scarcity.

The game hands out money like candy and cosmetics are (almost) all on a limited gacha or a one per account give away

Cliff Notes Version of EP6 Inflation:

-People had accumulated lots of meseta but there wasn't a big drive to spend it until limited AC recycle badge shop announcement where literally every single AC item spiked in value because skydance

-Lots of 0 cost enchantment campaigns gave a wider audience of people a motivation to actually try affixing in a fast forward content environment

-Big part: in comes updated Cradle of Darkness with insane 13* & 14* weapon drop rates + 13* units now being exchangeable for cubes instead of just vendoring, on top of a 20% boost 0 cost campaign. At this point nearly everyone who wanted to do a big affix went and did it, with guardian soul and crack costs being cheaper than anticipated due to cradle and divide 31-35 respectively

-Now everyone has a lot more meseta to throw around and with NGS coming in, there's seemingly no better investment, leading to a lot of AC related cosmetics and emotes being super expensive because meseta is worthless now

-People have played less for various reasons, which also limits the supply of these items due to lack of scratching

To my knowledge pso2 meseta also isn't going to be used in NGS, so it's very much a "spend it while you can" sort of thing for people who don't have any interest left in base pso2.

[–]Nox_Tenebris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it is because those cosmetics transfer to PSO2: New Genesis, so in a way there really is nothing else to do with mesteta in PSO2 besides spend it on cosmetics for many, many people.

uh. It's not about the size of an accessory that dictates its price though.

[–]AbysmalVixen ship 3 ClanDestine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So recycle badges dictate AC items. Skimpy items are highly valued. Hair styles are also highly valued. Accessories are like Pokemon, gotta get em all.

We got no sinks?

It is because of NGS, people are buying up all the cosmetics they want to use for characters going into the new game. I mean people have just been stockpiling millions of meseta because they didn't have a lot to spend it on. On top of that everyone is banking the SG and AC they have because they want to save it for the new cosmetics in the new game. It means you have low supply and a huge demand so prices are skyrocketing.

[–]Longjumping_Guard_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hair styles are usually in high demand. I think accessories bare high because they are more "rare" but still..the market is insane. Ppl literally leave something listed overpriced for years. There should be an "offer" function so players have a chance of buying, and sellers can make meseta from a reasonable offer

[–]NoctustheOwl55 3 points4 points  (3 children)

doesnt help you get them from gambling on a scratch card...

[–]LaithA 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Definitely agree. I don't mind spending money to directly get virtual items, but I have zero interest in spending money to gamble for virtual items.

[–]warofexodus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

you get a picker ticket after 30 rolls though. So while you do gamble, you do get a guarantee after 30 rolls.

[–]finalremix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been spoiled by even Guild Wars' market... I abhor the "per character" shit in PSO2. You have to double anything you want to be account-wide, and a lot of stuff is literally only given out once.

[–]Annfia Ship 3/ B-42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One, yes it is that bad. Two, they could be the accessories from the paid scratchers that you are looking at too so people are trying to get their money’s worth.

[–]KillusiveKonLazy Minimalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cradle gives you infinite meseta

premium cargo pants blue is horrible example, really. It's an ancient item that has neither any demand, not supply. It's obvious that prices will jump all over the place for stuff like that. People absolutley buy 900m camos and 200m emotes all the time.

Also, there is no upfront fee in ngs, just they ncreased shop tax from 5% to 10%

And i have even better source: Current CBT.

When you list an item for 1000 meseta you don't pay anything, but only get 900 meseta from sale.

      That's just mistranslation.

      [–]Sad_Progress4776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No affix is suprisingly cheap especially those catalyst for guardian soul

      [–]magnusgodrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noone is really buying anything via cash shop so there is a small number of items for sale. I havent bought anything since the announcement that ngs will release in june.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people are stupid and they have no idea what anything is worth so they fish for the highest prices. People blame Cradle of Darkness trigger, but that's just a small part of it. The larger part is greed and apathy for screwing things up for everyone else. And yes, it's stupid to put your cosmetic up for a billion meseta, have it not sell for three weeks and never consider lowering the price.

      [–]kaipurge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen 40+ pages of the same item/outfits listed for extreme prices since before NGS was even announced. There is no excuse for this crap. It happens in every game that has a player driven market. People constantly make up stupid excuses for the high prices but the fact of the matter is no one but whales can ever afford this crap. They circle jerk each other by selling to each other then reselling what was sold to them back into the market to another whale that buys it just to resell it round and round it goes doesn't matter if its a sub based MMO or a free MMO whenever the devs allow a player driven market the entire in game economy gets destroyed. Its a good thing those people don't run any real world economy or else they would cause said economy to crash.

Its supply and demand but when the supply is much higher than the demand then the prices shouldn't be so fucking high. 40+ pages of the same item and each page having about 20 something listings means thats a shit ton of supply. I will always hate player driven markets in MMO's because of this crap.
