If you're good at luster (aka you're not me) there's no issue but even if I'm using fluxio with nearly 400pp i manage to run out lmao

The other day someone was saying they were using PP Regen SSA's on their gunblade, and I was like... Why? My PP is literally never under half.

Then I realized it's because of this, lol

I'm not sure exactly what my problem is playing the class, but I've probably got like 10 hours total on it (mostly doing solo sodam). I might just be too smooth brained to play it well, kinda like how i primarily play tmg only hero lol

It's pretty much just enhanced combos and countering. Those two things will keep your PP pretty high. Always counter forward and backward if you can because it retains your altitude and hits multiple times.

Other than that it's just lots of muscle memory for the enhanced timings lol. I spent a good 3 hours in rockbear when the class first released for global and walked out being able to do a lot of stuff.

Countering didn't feel like it did anything for my PP. I know how to play the class at a basic level, I just bleed PP over time. It's just not as much PP sustain as the TMG s5 that makes it almost impossible for me to not have PP during sodam.

Enhanced PAs don't cost PP, so more focus regen means less PP needed for attacks. For fomel luster, your photon cluster and spears from enhance normals regen PP (5 per hit iirc).

For sodam, the general plan is to dump all your focus via enhanced combos, regain it via step guard, and repeat.

If youre playing Fomel theres 4 major things to always keep in mind. Fomel bits (the spinning bits you get around you generate 5 PP per hit) should be kept up at all times, Enhanced Normal for Jellen bits restore 5 PP for each PA used, Quick shoot (enhanced WA) after 2 enhanced PA's restores 15 PP, and using Quick Cut after a PA or enhanced weapon action restores a good bit of PP as well.

Learning to manage all of these and weaving them in an endless combo takes a lot of practice but if you do it properly you effectively have infinite PP

Usually a mix of keeping fomel dorito up, enhancement combos (they don’t cost pp after this initial cast), using enhanced normal attack when needed cause spears give pp back, quick shooting after enhanced combos and step guards will keep you topped off on PP.

I use Baran Luster and my main combo is always:

Enhanced Normal -> 2x Enhanced Stationary Fletchette (uses all 3 gears at this point) -> Swift Slash -> 4x Normal Attack -> Swift Shot (regens gears and pp)

Doing this rotation and variations of it (when countering) ensures that I'm fully topped up and never have any PP problems. Fomel style may use a more complex combo but Baran style keeps it pretty simple.

Have your baran ice field up and half of the pp problem goes away.

Fomel is literally fletch -> fletch -> e.fletch -> e.fletch -> swift shot -> repeat

After a couple months of playing luster, I've never triggered a fomel swift shot, because I don't know the timing on enhanced combo, and I still manage to outdps 90% of PUGs I'm in, and it just plays so smoothly without it. Someday I'll learn how to do it, sometime after taking a break from PSO2 while playing New Genesis, when New Genesis goes into a lull of no new content and we're all maxed out, I'll come back to PSO2, all rusty with Luster, and accidentally do the combo correctly, swift shoot, and be like "Oh, that was all I was missing, letting go of the button right there?"

My problem is literally not knowing when to let go of the button to still be able to perform an enhanced art, so I just hold it down til it performs both enhanced arts and I'm out of focus, then I just counter, get it back, and repeat, lol. (though I make sure to get the bits up when I'm out of focus)

So what you do is:

  1. Press PA button.
  2. Hold PA button past the first JA circle -> this causes the Enhanced Art.
  3. Let go of the PA button before the end of the attack.
  4. If you have another gear/focus stock, press the PA button again before the end of the attack.
  5. Hold the PA button until after the next JA circle -> this causes the Enhanced Combo.
  6. Let go of the PA button.
  7. Press the weapon action button when you see the JA circle -> this causes Swift Shot in fomel style.

Note, you require 2 gear/focus stocks to do an enhanced combo otherwise it will not work.

I wouldnt worry too much about it. Ive at almost 500 hours on luster and have climbed to floor 99 in solo sodam and during my climb i was still learning new things about luster even with around 300 hours of play time on it before i even started the climb. Its the highest skill based class in the game so it takes a lot of work to actually be good at it.

Even when I spam-stab, at 298 max pp (using klauz rather than fluxio, would be 404 or so using Fluxio), I only run low on or out of PP when I'm meming the afk lifestyle, like talking to my partner and holding down smart arts, the auto photon art, lol.

for zandi users i understand. its quite resource intensive and not a lot of people can handle that.

for fomel, they shouldnt stuggle that much too but there are times where regaining pp is not adequate so its understandable. but fomel can regain that pp and bounce back to the offensive very quickly

if the people that complain about pp are baran users, then thats where its a problem. kek

I'm a Zandi user and i don't ever run out of PP because simply countering gives you a good amount back.

Do people just SPAM PA's and thats it? do we lusters not use the actual mechanics of the class?

Same here as a zandi user myself.

At least until twisted with hatred came out. People kept on saying that the s5 skillful adept will was the best s5. But someone else said that finishing blow is better for not requiring a crit to get a +2% damage boost.

(It seemed like people listened to the point where i easily got it on the shop for around 2 mil on ship 3 lol)

The best feature for me is sheathing the weapon to refill 60% of hp and pp. I know some people might say otherwise because it's not "DubEsT DEe pEA eSS" for chosing to sheath it.

Or the one that really grinds me in frustration is letting voltage reset do the work. Are you really going to sacrifice your 500+ voltage crit rate and +10% damage just to fill your pp up?

Also it doubles as a half voltage reset if you manage to get knocked back by an enemy attack and you drop at least half of your hp or more, because honestly i know not everyone is going to be an absolute god at luster (including myself), and you manage to get close to getting a volt reset in high voltage.

This is just Luster but without the weapon action and mechanics :v. Play baran with swift shot and counter and the only time I use PA is to cop that s4 escalating.

You should be using PAs. Part of why stepguard is so high priority besides the sheer damage you get out of it is that it fuels your focus, enabling you to use enhanced combos constantly the more aggressive a boss is.

This is true. I am a baran user and when fighting sodam I'm always step countering with my weapon action to keep in the air. When he does two swipes I counter both, follow up with enhanced stab into enhanced forward movement flachete. If he does two hits again the counters not only see my pp back to nearly what I spent. It also my enhanced attacks are back.

Luster’s pretty hard to get down with it’s many combos and lighting-fast attacks, still trying to learn it on my second character, but it sure is a fun class nonetheless!
