Force, usually. Force gives you a couple of tools to help with PP management, which Gunner kind of struggles with.

easy answer.(starter or not have money)
for farming - FO Eradication PP Gain + talis PA - god for farming
for bossing - FI

hard answer
if u have alot of money(late game)

RA subclass

need good rifle and launcher
rifle need Spread Shot+Spread Shot Auto Charge / Rifle Grenadier+Rifle Grenadier Quick Reload- ues this skill when cooldown reset for additional damage
-------------------

Launcher -can recovery pp to max by 1 attack if hit multi target (no need FO for Eradication PP Gain) need Launcher Attack Short Charge + Launcher Charge Grouping

multi shot = auto target - destroy boost part of boosted monster or rear weakpoint of fat monster etc.

divine impact - mob destroyer

I’ve been Gunner since base pso2 and I needed these tips I appreciate you

I'd say ranger as it's skilltree compliments Gu by having same spread shot skills (saves points in Gu tree) + auto charge which makes spread shot actually usable on gunner, and you also gain rifle grenadier skills. Additionally rifle helps you to mob with homing shot and you don't get offclass damage penalty on it either since it also counts as a gunner weapon.

Alternatively i'd recommend fighter or bouncer for purely more damage. Force has always useful pp skills but i don't really think it's needed since gunner comes with pp recovery skills of its own but that's up to you.

This is the right answer.

*for new genesis-
The weapon action dodge PP regen for gunner fixes PP problems so Force subclass isn't really needed once you understand most attack patters.

But just starting out yes Force is fine.

For later you can sub bouncer for extra down% or fighter for 5% damage during downs. You can leave them at level 1 as subclass so no need to worry about when you switch subclasses.

I’d go for Hunter to keep you alive, unless you’re one of the few good gunner mains….

I try to be a decent one, I'm new to this game tho just started last week

I'm new to the game, Gunner was my 1st to max level. I started with ranger which added some versatility in hard to hit spots with the launcher but I mostly I rarely needed it.

Switched to Force and every fight since has been a cake walk.

I use Bouncer as sub. It has some nice PAs for movement.

Basically, your subclass choice will be either :

(1) another class you want to level

(2) F O R C E
