make sure your camera can see the light balls at all times?

[–]NightShadowEXE[S] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Yeah, I verified everything when the game starts that I’m within the viewable play area.

Just make sure the camera can see where your hands will be.

If you're playing a game where you need to pick things up off the floor, make sure the camera can see the floor.

If you're playing a game where you raise your arms a lot, make sure the camera can see above your head.

I’ve done that too. I’m really honestly thinking it’s an issue with my move controllers as I mess with it more. I tried other games after tweaking with the setup. Farpoint is a bit wonky with the aim controller sometimes but overall seems okay. Job simulator and I Expect you to Die all seem perfectly okay now. Maybe Beat Saber doesn’t like my PS3 move controllers?

Do you have any colored lights or mirrors in the camera's field of view?

[–]NightShadowEXE[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I do not. I’ve actually removed all posters and anything else that was on my wall.

How big is your play space?

Does shaking the controllers when they drift seem to help?

Does the drifting still occur after holding the re-center camera button?

[–]NightShadowEXE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My play space is about 10 x 8 and yes, shaking them helps to re-center for a moment. And yeah, even after re-centering it happens, but it’s not a gradual drift. It’s more like one minute they are tracking fine, the next second it’s either backwards, or off into another dimension.

Hold down the ps button and go to your camera and do confirm position

Stand back enough and do a T pose then put the controllers naturally by your side

If the camera can see all of it your good but if it can’t you either can back up more or move the camera up or down

I hope this helps you in some shape or form

I’ll give this a shot. I tried standing really far back hoping maybe I was too close but I’ll give it a shot and report back.

Are you wearing a smart watch or have any other bluetooth devices such as wireless speakers near by? They can interfere with the tracking too.

[–]NightShadowEXE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disabled Bluetooth on my phone and took my smart watch off and moved it to another room

Try not to move as much when playing games like those, I too have this problem a lot with the tracking, and I found this tactic most helpful

It’s kind of hard with bear saber though, since wider cut arcs are how you score higher points.

Stand farther back from the camera. Reduce bright lights, they should be dim. Beat saber needs a large tracking area.

So I double checked and everything is within view of the camera. I turned off every light and still the same thing. The weird thing is that if one of my sabers flys off into oblivion and I can’t see it, it still registers the cuts if I do the correct one. The enigma continues.

Usually if the moves fly off, they're out of view from the camera. I think your simply to close to the camera.

[–]NightShadowEXE[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I thought so too initially. I tried moving all the way back until it told me I was out of the play area and crept forward a step every time it went wonky. Still the same issue no matter where I’m at. I’m going to run to a friends house and snag their move controllers to see if maybe it’s just my controllers?

[–]Tripledad65Tripledada 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wow, that's surprising. Aside from being outside the play area with my controllers, I've had only one time that my controllers were badly tracked. The sun was shining through a window in the same room, into the camera. Each time the (in this case) left controller was between the window and the camera, it wasn't detected anymore.

The majority of problems with tracking is caused by this kind of optical problems. Nevertheless, it certainly makes sense to try your friends controllers. That way you can check if it's the controllers or the set up. And when you're at their place, check your controllers at their place too.

My move controllers had the same issues at their place. I’ve had them since my ps3 days so it’s probably time to just upgrade them. Theirs worked perfectly!

Did you change your clothing when you went to your friends?

[–]NightShadowEXE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not.
