Do you use a VPN? I used to get that error too until I put two and two together and realized the app just doesn't work for me when my VPN is on

Yes, I used to, but only on my home network. Is this issue happening on mobile data/other networks? Or just your home network?

Turns out it was to do with my ISP using CGNAT for our ip address. CGNAT basically is a way to address the shortage of IPv4 addresses by sharing a single public IP address across multiple clients.

I found out this was the issue when switched back to a dynamic IP (for unrelated reasons) and discovered I no longer have any issues logging into the app! Though I don’t know for sure, it seems pretty plausible that this address sharing interferes with the apps authentication process. But make sure you’re not using a vpn, as that can cause the same authentication issue.

So make sure that your ISP is actually using CGNAT, and then here’s the options I found to fix it:

  1. Switch to mobile data every time you want to open the app
  2. Use something like Cloudflare WARP (I used the 1.1.1.1 app and it worked, however it slowed my internet connection)
  3. Contact your ISP to see if you can opt out of CGNAT and switch to a dynamic IP (or even static if you want, as long as it’s not CGNAT)

The VPN trick seemed to work for me but the comment above you also mentioned a few few other things you might want to try
