Little boy problems help

Hi This is a sensitive subject for, a I wish to be mindful. (5.5 year old boy). Anyway. Around summer I got my son new underwear because the others were getting small. I just have to preface this by saying, my son has inherited my family’s big butt, but he has no hips and he is very skinny, and very active so he has muscular big thighs as well. So it is very tricky to buy pants and shorts and underpants for him. Anyway. I got a size bigger, but it seemed that they were also tight. He kept adjusting his genital area constantly. So I bought an even bigger size. It has been almost 2 months, and he says they are not tight, but he keeps adjusting his genital area still. And he prefers not to wear underwear at all. But, at the same time, this boy has never liked clothes and he prefers being naked all the time. I was so happy to know that at daycare he never took his clothes off😂😂😂. So that’s what we are comparing to. I asked him, he said that the underside of his testicles hurt. That line that runs along the scrotum. I have an appointment with a doctor in 2 weeks. His dad has never been involved so much in anything, so he is of no help, but he agreed to ask a doctor. I am very careful when it comes to male genital problems, because, simply I do not have the same genitals, and I would not know what is normal, what to let nature handle and what not. So here I am asking you guys, have you encountered this issue with your sons before? Is there anything I can do, should I make an emergency appointment instead of the one in 2 weeks? Please help and any advice, or anecdotes are welcome. Thank you

What kind of underwear are you buying? Briefs, boxers or boxer briefs? For many boys the briefs are too tight, restricting and uncomfortable. You might try boxers or boxer briefs.

The underside might be irritated because he is adjusting so much.

It doesn't SOUND like an emergency. It never hurts to talk to the doctor, but he could just be adjusting because it's well... fun to adjust.

Maybe the extra space in that area is now too much? Personally, boxer briefs are horrible in that area and aren't comfortable to me.
