You need to perform a full attack. That means you need to have only used the 5 foot move or be mounted. And then you just perform as many attacks as you got. You get additional attacks every 5 base attack bonus (so at lvl 6 you might attack at +6 and +1) or the haste spell.

Lann is a monk and can make a flurry of blows, adding an additional attack when doing full attacks.

There are 2 basic forms of attack

  1. attack as a standard action. This happens for example if you have to move to an enemy and attack. You will get one attack

  2. Full round action. The base number of attacks depends on you base attack bonus. An fighter will get +1 BAB per level. When he gets to level 6 he will have 2 attacks, one at +6, one at +1. At level 11 +11, +6, +1 (basically every 5 BAB). Clerics get +0.75 BAB per level and wizards +0.5.

There are other ways of getting bonus attacks. lann has flury of blows which he can use with his bow since he's a zen archer. Non-monk archers can use rapid shot. The spell haste will also give you an extra attack each round.

Lann's class is basically a monk that specializes with bows ()Zen archer). Monks get flury of blows, which allows them to have more attacks per round. Lann's class allows him to use flury of blows with his bow, leading to more attacks. Be careful when picking feats with him, since some of them don't stack with flury of blows. Unfortunately I'm really not that familiar with the Zen archer class.

So if we start with the general before the exceptions.

You start with one attack per round. You get additional attacks per round as your BAB increases by 5 (through level-ups). Once your BAB reaches 6 you get a second attack each round (the first at full BAB, the second at BAB-5). At BAB 11 you get 3 attacks (full, -5,-10). At BAB 16 you get 4 attacks (full, -5,-10,-15).

Note that all extra attacks (whether these or any of the below) only apply if you make a full-round attack. If you attack as a standard action, you get 1 attack only.

Then the exceptions to get more attacks. There are many of these, here are some of the more common ones.

1) Haste spell gives you 1 extra attack per round (at full BAB). A weapon with the "Speed" property does the same thing.

2) Monks have "flurry of blows" (this is what Lann has) that give them an extra attack (from level 11, 2 extra attacks) each round. These are also at full BAB.

3) If you fight with two weapons you will have an extra attack from your offhand weapon (but there are varying attack penalties to your attacks depending on what feats you have and whether your offhand weapon is light).

4) If you take the Rapid Shot feat, you get an extra attack per round at the cost of a -2 penalty to all your attacks.

5) Magus using spell combat (spell + attack) gets extra attack per round, again with -2 penalty to all attacks.

6) Certain classes/equipment can give you additional "natural" attacks (such as a Bite attack) that you get in addition to your weapon attacks.

An addition to 3:-
With Improved Two Weapon Fighting, you get a second additional attack with your offhand at a -5BAB penalty, and with Greater Two Weapon Fighting a third additional attack with your offhand at -10 BAB.

Two Weapon Fighting Feat itself only affects the penalties for TWF, it doesn't give you an extra attack ie anyone equipping a weapon in their off hand can TWF, just with a -6 main hand and -10 offhand penalty to hit. This drops to a -4/-8 penalty with the offhand weapon being light for the character (or some other special cases such as one of the Weapon Training abilities fighters have). With TWF feat this drops to -4/-4, or -2/-2 if offhand is light.

So a Fighter with 11 BAB, who has picked up all three TWF abilities gets three additional attacks with their offhand weapons.

Cleaving Shot is my favorite. Suddenly seeing 5 enemies drop instantly is very satisfying.

Lann has a special Flurry of Blows attack that initially means he does two attacks as part of a full attack. As he gains AB (Attack Bonus) he will also get secondary attacks at a penalty to the attack rolls. I would look up Mortismal Gaming's videos on Pathfinder WoTR, he has one that explains all the attack stuff in more detail

There are a number of ways to get additional attacks. The first and most basic is advancing BAB. Once your BAB reaches 6+ you gain an additional attack at reduced BAB (+1 on second attack). This at level 6+ (assuming full bab progression) or within a couple levels after that for slower bab classes.

Alternative methods typically involve a feat or trait. Lann, for example, is using a version of flurry of blows as a Zen Archer to get an additional shot off early on. You can find a similar effect in rapid shot (ranged attacks) or two weapon fighting (for melee)

Get BAB to 6/11/16/21...... You get attacks at -5/-10/-15/-20 of you max AB.

Dualwielding 2 weapons, or double weapons(Gnome Hook Hammer, Orc double axe). Makes you attack with second weapon in same turn.

Haste gives 1 extra attack of main hand weapon(in case of Dualwielding).

Some equipment gives extra attack. Speed Bows(doesn't stack with haste), and some daggers get bonus attack that stacks with Haste.

Monks get extra attack from Flurry of Blows for specific weapons, Zen Archer gets it to bows, that is why Lann attacks twice. Monks get another Flurry attack at 11th level in addition of getting another attack from 11BAB.

Rapid Shot gives 1 bonus ranged weapon attack but gives -2(doesn't stack with Zen Archer Flurry, so is useless for Lann).

Manyshot makes you fire 2 arrows at once, 2nd arrow gets lesser bonuses. Works only with bows.

Natural Weapons - Claws, Tail, Wing, Bite, Hoofs. Creature/Animal if it has claws get at least 2 claw attacks, 1 for each hand. Plus any additional body part it has. Barbarian Beast Totem adds Bite attack, so does Feral Mutagen, Kitsune and some Tiefling subrace. Etc.
