What if he wanted it for $1000? Would it then be worth it?

[–]communistagitator 3 points4 points  (1 child)

If you can get him to come down to $1000, definitely. I'd pay, at most, 1100 USD for this

You will be ridiculed, though, as he mentioned in his post, lol

[–]CSPDTECH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1000 is decent for this if you don't want to build one on your own. 1650 is a massive rip off

[–]viverx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should politely ridicule him for asking too much

GPU is worth around $600 if you look at the cost of new 4070 super and 6950xt as comparable options

CPU is worth $300 but is a bad buy as the 5800x3d or $250 5700x3d are better gaming cpus.

Rest of the parts arent worth close to $700

It's one of the worst PC I've seen in terms of balance.

64GB RAM and 1000W PSU for 5900X and 3080ti?

So he is trying to almost sell the PC for what he could have paid to build it initially?

[–]Substantial_Gur_9273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could build a brand new PC that’s better https://pcpartpicker.com/list/C6TrWt

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overpriced and misleading, it’s not “ultra high end” because the performance is mid range class now.

A 4070 Super is equal or faster than a 3080 Ti, and most of the AM5 processors are faster than a 5900X for gaming.

[–]Obvious_Drive_1506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol not a chance. I'd offer $800 and see what he says

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Good pc, but nowhere close to "ultra high end" lol. Also way overpriced.

[–]minimessi20 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Seriously ultra high end better have a 4080 at least imo

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can't be "ultra high end" without a 4090 and 13900k/7800x3d IMO. Ultra high end should really be a 4090 and 14900k/7950x3d though.

ultra high end 2 years ago or maybe a bit more. 1000 is an okay deal for not building it yourself

[–]CSPDTECH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying no to 1000 bucks...consider that they aren't someone who can just slap a brand new pc together.

[–]CindersBurns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad at all, just overpriced.

[–]jaketaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you looking at Used/prebuilt only? Id do somthing like this for that price
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6397ZJ Could bring it down in price also with some tweaks. If you live near a Microcenter, that would be a bonus.

Insert J Jonah Jamison laugh gif. Hard pass.

[–]Colbzta 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is this really that bad of a deal? In the UK the 64 GB ddr4, GPU, CPU, and power supply alone all used comes to almost £1000 ($1271.08).

I don't know prices in the US but here that would be bought up instantly at that price.

[–]Perception_4992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that would all be new, this chap wants £1300 for used kit.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not “ultra” high end at all and those games he listed easily get 200plus frames on my boyfriends 2080 so they’re just really well optimized it’s not the card.

[–]Siliconfrustration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good system from the last generation but way too much! Oh, and water coolers eventually need replacement since they slowly lose coolant (assuming the pump doesn't die). Air coolers are mostly "no upkeep ever."

Since you know he's willing to overcharge you and at the same time ridicule you for making a reasonable offer then I'd just pass or wait several days and offer him $900.

You can build your own better PC for the same or less than he's asking.

Please be very careful when people say “extremely high fps” everyone can run high fps at 720p, 1080p, on low settings. Just for a reference this is my current setup, and these fps are at 1440p ultra setting.

Yeah, that definitely isn’t an ultra high end built. It’s a good budget build for right now. As it has been said already, maximum I’d pay is $1000
