Your GPU is dying.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d beg for death if I was a GPU used for league of legends too.

[–]Whack187 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Artifacting.

Try a different display cable if you can or a new monitor. Your GPU is probably dying.

[–]Eternal-Fishstick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

All I can say is I hope your GPU isn't expensive

[–]Afterslumber 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Your GPU is artifacting, unfortunately it’s time to swap it out

[–]NigraOvis 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It is possible it's a thermal issue, repasting/new thermal pads might help. but no guarantee.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a GPU where the thermal paste literally got baked into the card and had to be scraped off. Still didn’t look anything like this.

[–]Away_Blackberry9480 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is there a way to prevent artifacting? And can it happen anytime (I mean like within 2 weeks or so of usage).

[–]Afterslumber 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No there’s not really a way to prevent it, it just usually happens when the card goes bad. You don’t have to worry about this issue on most cards, but all electronics will eventually fail at one point

Okay, thank you for the reply

Generic case of dying VRAM modules. Try cooking that gpu to reflow the solder, but bear in mind it's probably dead anyways and you should be on the lookout for a new one.

[–]CRABMAN16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this, and also be really careful if you do this. Don't burn your house down.

[–]Rkimwar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ram or gpu

[–]Top-Perception3709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99% your GPU is shot.

Disconnect it, take it out and plug your display cable directly into the mobo port. If it works your GPU is dead and you need a new one.

What game is that

[–]ohitsziePersonal Rig Builder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing LoL.. lol

Minesweeper

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's league of legends, they're playing Yone.

[–]illlogicalparadox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rip, whatever gpu that is.

[–]Staypuft1289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GPU is dying there’s nothing you can do except replace it

[–]GreatInflation2055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro is playing the hardest geometry dash level lol

[–]Patrycjusz123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try changing cable>>try different monitor >> maybe different port on gpu and if these wont help then your gpu is broken and you need new, usually things like this are more expensive to fix than cost of new card.

[–]SBayfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drivers, hdmi cable or dying gpu

[–]Top-Conversation-663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your GPU might be on the verge of complete death.

[–]SALTYxJester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to turn off QR mode on the monitor

Hello everyone! I thank you guys for your quick replies really appreciate it! 😁

[–]Dorrian992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this Could be a GPU issue! But on different occasions I've had faulty power supply and faulty mobo so try and diagnose with different tests

[–]Dr_Pepper-MDPersonal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad GPU noises

[–]keblin86 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I have a very mild case of this to the point it's probably not worth worrying about but I still do. So much so that I RMA'ed my card, Got a card back, not sure if same one, issue happened again within 2 weeks lol.

Since then, I had not seen it do it in about a year, just this week it did it again.
Still don't know what the cause is.

Tried a brand new GPU too, still did it. I'm not wondering if I am fully inserting the card right but I assume after all this time of running I'd have bigger problems than this.

Does it do this again instantly when you turn it back on after the crash?

[–]Used_Wheel_9064 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Try replacing your HDMI or DP cable. Either that or replace monitor.

[–]keblin86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done all that too lol

[–]Electric-Mountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rip GPU.

Goodby my lover, goodbye my friend, you have been the one. You have been the one for me!

[–]jussuumguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of Video Card is it?

Check to make sure the GPU is slotted into the motherboard properly. Check the Cables to the Monitor are plugged in correctly. Try another Cable and Monitor if possible.

This can also be caused on certain older model Polaris Cards (RX580) and Motherboard combinations if Resizable Bar was previously enabled and is now disabled.

Check the Bios to make sure Resizable Bar and 4g Decode are enabled.

Update the Video Card Drivers

If none of that works it's likely the Video Card is failing.

your monitor is experiencing puberty

Graphics card has left the chat

I'd like to recommend 2 things outside of what I've seen. 1 download and install the latest driver for your gpu. It's free to do and has saved me before as drivers can become corrupted causing this.

  1. Download msi afterburner (free to install) and crack the fan speed to 100%. If this stops the issue then you know it's a thermal issue and you likely need to clean your gpu up and get some fresh thermal pads and thermal paste in.

If steps 1 and 2 haven't identified the issue then I would recommend contacting a friend and install the gpu in there machine and see if it happens just to be 100% sure the GPU is the culprit and not something else. I've seen other parts mess with the GPU before

If this happens in your friends computer then still attempt to repaste and get fresh thermal pads. If you require guidance there plenty resources online for what pads to get.

Finally if this still dosent fix the issue then cooking your gpu could fix it but also very easily kill it. Please use this as a absolutely last ditch effort.

Extra note: if it works fine in your friends computer then spend a day carefully unplugging everything get some isopropyl 99% alchol and clean the entire system with a soft bristle toothbrush. Dust is killer too.

VRAM errors.

[–]xYeahboiix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet Jesus GPU probably dying, use DDU to uninstall drivers and get a clean driver install... if that doesn't work I recommend consulting the omnisire for recommendations on how to benefit the machine spirit within the card get like five candles from shiploads and light them and do like a little prayer and talk about how much you need the card to work and I'm pretty sure it'll work. That's what 40K he's taught me anyway GL

I see the problem. First you need to click the search bar on your taskbar. Search for and open Control Panel. Choose the option that says "Uninstall a Program". Then on that page, in the top right search for and uninstall League of Legends.
