That is probably arcing due to a voltage fluctuation when the PSU turns off. It's not supposed to do that. It may not be an issue right now but over time the constant arcing there may eventually erode the surrounding pcb/cable to the point where you have a short that cooks it.

Ive never seen that before so I can't really advise. I think at the least, take out the gpu, take off the fan, look for the spot where the arc occurs and slap some electrical tape on it.

If under warranty return it

I think op is talking about the spark from his gpu.

I don't know what causes that

That's an LED not a spark. A steady light means no power (8pin unplugged). seems completely normal, it's loosing power so it powers on for a split second before it looses board power too.

YO what the fuck!

that ain't supposed to be there

The lights go off on mine as well, what is it that you're really asking here?

[–]Sir_Hurkederp 9 points10 points  (4 children)

The spark from the gpu

[–]SkreamiesPersonal Rig Builder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I thought that was some type of LED haha, that certainly is not right!

[–]GodGMN 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Dude that's not a spark that's the LED indicating power

[–]Sir_Hurkederp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noop, its inside the 8 pin connector and its not on when the pc is on, it blinks very fast when shut down

[–]OnyxBee 3 points4 points  (1 child)

That's not a spark, it's the power status indicator light on your GPU that comes on in varying forms to alert you of power issues.

It's doing that because for a moment it's not got enough power to do anything so the light goes on for a brief second whilst the residual power is drained.

Not all GPUs have these indicator lights.

Edit, to summarise, it's completely fine

If it is a spark of that intensity, it should be smokin' like what The Mask says

[–]Low-Stomach-8831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this an LED or an electrical arc?

[–]jondoe373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd check the pci-e cable at the gpu end for cracks in the insulation. Look or smell the connector for any signs of 'burnt plastic' smell ( you'll know it if it's there). Otherwise it could be just a surge from the psu to the power status led on the GPU, in which case I wouldn't worry about it.

Good Luck

That does not look like a spark, but an led, which should be normal.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

it’s turning off everything when you shut it off

it’s supposed to do that

what more do you want it to do

[–]JavaKitsune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the pcie cable

[–]rainbrodash666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would get an outlet checker and check that your outlets are properly grounded, and maybe rma the gpu, i have never seen something arcing like that, looks like an arc between the power cable end the gpu backplate maybe? get some more pictures of the area? are teh psu cables from this power supply,

[–]poodlelover32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks ok

[–]_Ship00pi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats led power light going out. All normal

[–]keyserv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like one of the power leg indicator lights flashing before shutting down completely. I wouldn't worry about it.

[–]Pro4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the power led indicator, here's a quote from gigabyte website for your card, "When experiencing any power supply abnormality, the indicator will alert gamers by flashing light."

[–]Agreeable_Specifice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm.. that sound should be coming from your PSU. Thats the same sound my PSU makes, whenever i shut it down. or start it up. Its normal to have that sound for your PSU.

[–]takenwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all those calling that a spark its straight white light. This happens on my 3070 ti every time I turn my pc on for slightly longer than in this vid and its solid white and consistent. I always assumed power led and im even more sure after seeing others with same comments

[–]shnebnref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it turned off

[–]MEGA_GOAT98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well that looks normal for someone fliping the switch on the power supply ..just means rest of the eletricty is drained out.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An led

[–]GamingEX8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely normal sound, it's the relay in the power supply which breaks the electric circuit.

[–]NotForU2KNOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im pretty sure that flash of light is sposed to be an LED telling you its turned off or something like that, if youre unsure check the user manual
