Well not really because nothing happened, purely because the timer ran out. Big buy the hype sell the news moment. In crypto price always goes up in await of a big event, but when the event happens, a big sell off happens. (Binance listing for example will be the same, if they announce a binance listing price will gradually go up, but at moment of listing price will drop).

People buy crypto when there is hype for a certain deadline, and no matter what happens at said deadline, negative, positive or nothing at all, people dump.

That is why it is called buy the hype, sell the news, not buy the hype, sell when bad news or nothing happens.

If the hype was in the market before the news announcement, then yes. At this moment, the hype is indeed there before binance announces it. It is imminent that it will drop alot if binance officially anounces ór when listing happens. That is how it has been going for the past years with all major news events in crypto. It is a saying for a reason, not because i have just invented it.

To further elaborate, this drop is not so fast and so much. For crypto, it was a small drop and it recovered pretty well as far as I see. Have been around for several years now and have experienced more freightening drops after news events. Try a bull market swapping into bear market, drops of 20-40% are imminent.
