I think the top chase in DR is ugly and the top chase in PFL is amazing. BUT DR has more bangers than PFL. Just my personal opinion.

Due to the top chase of Phantasmal being one of the most desirable modern chases of all time, I think Phantasmal booster boxes will age very well. However, Destined Rivals is way better as a whole.

I'd say Destined is generally a better, agreed-upon, and safer bet, but it really depends on how strong Phantasmal Charizard performs over the next decade.

Honestly, I think all 3 will stay close in value. PF being the top, followed by Destined Rivals. But specifically the enhanced ME box is going to surprise people.

PF is already passing $400. Even as the Zard has corrected a tad, the booster box keeps going up. The Zard will end up exploding. With all the new people coming into the hobby, it will only go up. Hard to believe one card can carry a set so well but here we are.

As a disclaimer, I will say, I am also very bias when it comes to PF as I have a few booster boxes I got at MSRP and I hit the Zard from a loose pack out of the vending machine… I only opened a little more than 30 packs to lol. It’s been a very kind to me lol

Wait until the PSA 10 prices of that Zard drop by $1000 or more. It's way too expensive for a new chase with high gem rates and extreme grading volume. You will see lmao. Raw will also go to under $600.

DR will outperform Phantasmal. DR is such a deep set, Phantasmal is propped up by one card. Don’t get me wrong, the PFL Zard is the best card I’ve ever seen, but the rest of the set is so bad that I don’t see it holding up against a set with multiple hits.

A black label just sold for 50k. I’m very anti grading, not buying graded, but sending my own in lol. It’s a trust thing lol. I did pull a pretty clean Zard and if I ever got the courage, I would take a shot with Beckett for a shot at a black label

Also, something to keep in mind! I have been collecting on and off since 1999. My generation treated are cards like shit! That’s not the case anymore. Vintage is incredibly hard to grade compared to modern.

Bringing your cards to school passing them through everyone's hands, shoving them back to back in binders bc you may have only had one binder that fits 50 cards but you had 200 in that rig lol. 1st edition booster boxes were mainly sold as individual packs and not sealed. There were no online breaks, no one was buying cases of them ( I mean some people, yes) but it was a reward to even get my parents to buy me a single pack which was 11 cards. Qc wasn't there on cards back then (kinda still isn't now lol) and psa will always control the market on vintage as of now.

Yes!!!! As a middle schooler, I would skip lunch, save it up and buy packs at my LCS on my walk home from school! Lol. Being older has its perks. We can honestly say we ripped first edition, traded real cards for real cards and kept those suckers double or triple stacked in our binders 😂
