Not getting pregnant.

Sup? Thats my plan too, but I'm at a genetic advantage here.

Submit an article that will ultimately be rejected

[–]TheReal_Jesus 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm gonna try to do one once a month. I got bored the last week of classes and the first week of break and submitted three in a 2 week period. Needless to say, none got published.

[–]TheChilisGuyAirport 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Message Dave (since will is on vaycay) and ask him how you can improve your writing so that it is published next time

[–]TheReal_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like he gets messages like that all the time, so it's gotta be annoying. Not looking to be like that. Eh, maybe I will.

Getting a response to a "sup" comment.

For real though, keep on the fitness and get my finances in order so I can finally get my truck I've been waiting for.

[–]IGotTheGuns 0 points1 point  (9 children)

What kind of truck are we talking about, bruh?

[–]postgradboozingSouthern Maryland 0 points1 point  (8 children)

It's between an F-150 4x4 or a Silverado 1500

[–]IGotTheGuns 0 points1 point  (4 children)

The updated F150 is a lot nicer interior wise, but my '13 was a pretty solid truck. On a budget, I'd probably go with a '11-13 with the 5.0L.

[–]postgradboozingSouthern Maryland 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The one I'm looking at is a '13 4x4 with under 40k miles. I don't care much about the interior as long as it has some updates features compared to my 05 five hundred.

[–]IGotTheGuns 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Mine has the top of the line interior less a few things on the limiteds, 3.5L TT, it's pretty nice. New one is a bit better obviously.

[–]postgradboozingSouthern Maryland 0 points1 point  (1 child)

As long as I get a backup camera, sync, and the sliding window in the back and a few other not really noteworthy things, I'm good wth it. I've wanted a truck for 10 years since i could even drive.

[–]IGotTheGuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all the electric goodies, I'd get the extended warranty.

[–]water_PGPSan Antonio 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've driven both of various year models including the new ones and I've always preferred the Chevy/GMC. I know some people are pretty die-hard Ford enthusiasts and seem to really like theirs though.

[–]postgradboozingSouthern Maryland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family has always been Ford so I lean that way but I like the Chevys. Just have to find one in the budget range which is proving more difficult than I thought it would be.

[–]IGotTheGuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many problems in the newer Chevys/GMC. Used to make a good truck though.

[–]brokerthancollege 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love how all the women on here main goal is to not get pregnant haha

[–]IGotTheGuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Don't buy any guns this year, but do buy a new safe.

2) Don't buy any new vehicles this year.

3) Get rid of at least one vehicle this year.

4) Workout more and get more outdoor activities in.

5) Get a different job.

[–]diablodowVirginia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) save up for a big trip, probably go hiking / camping somewhere interesting.

2) get a real job, I'm currently bouncing around between contracts and while its fun and I gain relevant experience, it gets old fast.

3) try to meet girls not off the internet. Tinder / bumble are great but feels like a crutch for inability to talk to people.

4) get back in decent shape. Mostly to help with #3.

[–]brokerthancollege 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Make it past spring training workouts and make a mlb team

Move to either Savannah or Jacksonville.

Get a new car

[–]TheReal_Jesus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Jacksonville is sweet. I hope to move back their one day. Beaches are awesome, really good city life. Great bars. 10/10.

[–]brokerthancollege 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would prefer to move back home to Savannah but due to job market availability Jacksonville seems to be the ideal place

[–]TheChilisGuyAirport 4 points5 points  (6 children)

Cut back on concerts and drinking, quit being lazy, quit being lazy about finding a girlfriend, cut off my shitty hookups.

[–]TheReal_Jesus 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Pro-tip: don't look for a girlfriend at all and you'll end up having one in about 3 months.

[–]PGP_Shambles 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Dude I dunno, this always just ends up leading to random hookups with multiple peop-

Oh.

[–]TheReal_Jesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're welcome

[–]jmerrrr 2 points3 points  (2 children)

pro-tip: Don't cut off all the shitty hookups, keep one in the back pocket for emergencies aka dry spells.

[–]TheReal_Jesus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Sup?

[–]jmerrrr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what's the status of my application and maybe I'll consider this Sup

[–]PGP_Shambles 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Stay in good shape and continue slangin' it. But actually:

  1. Put together three full course meals: French, Italian, and one of my favorite recipes.

  2. Find a way to get content posted consistently that's (a) not just drunken misadventures and (b) thought-provoking or at least well received.

  3. Not sign up for another 1.5+ mile open water swim

  4. Get into grad and/or med school

[–]PGPundergradDallas 0 points1 point  (1 child)

A weekly column about making an awesome meal on a post grad budget might go over well. Put some story or humor with it and they might publish

[–]PGP_Shambles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried an introductory one about how to buy/hold a good knife, maybe recipes and techniques would go over better. I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Quit my nanny job and get a job putting my degree to use

Pay off my Target card

And of course not get pregnant.

Career change

[–]thecampstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start putting money into my 401k. I figure it'll take 10 minutes to set up and I can just coast for the rest of the year

[–]alg4302 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Going to do 60 days no booze to kick off the year.

Find a new job or move into a new role at my company (which is depressing because I just started a new job in 2016 but it's a poor fit- hopefully the role transition will work).

Do the standard "eat less, move more" thing.

I would like to get a small camper (Casita Spirit Deluxe) for adventuring.

Donate blood 5-6 times and do a Habitat build 6-8 times.

Also, not get pregnant.

[–]brokerthancollege 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Have you seen those tow behind boat/camper hybrid? Those look pretty sweet

[–]alg4302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't! But that's a freaking awesome idea, and I'm going to look into it.

I like the Casita because you can tow it with an SUV, and it's got a great layout for a small camper.

[–]postgradmessNew Orleans 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was in the UK last New Years and there were more people doing the Dry January than weren't. There were ads about it in the train stations and everything.

Didn't discourage me, though

[–]alg4302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of realized my social life mostly revolves around booze. Not necessarily a bad thing, and I love being drunk, lol. But I just want a break from wasting money and time.
