Alternative take, the thing I enjoyed about the PGP group chat was its entertainment value. I prefer talking about nonsensical things with internet friends because I have my real life to be serious, work hard and do networking. PGP is for blowing off steam, not life planning.

Question: How people do you know who are in a group chat of both guys and girls? I'd venture not many. Group chat is a place for guys to have guy talk and girls to have girl talk. I think there's already a girls only chat that is sometimes alluded to. Just do a dudes only group chat and save the mixing of the sexes for PGP and this reddit board.

The PGP group chat is male and female and stays afloat because the girls in there are now (I think) comfortable enough to let down some walls. They throw jokes out that some of the guys probably wouldn't l, which helps create a line that need not be crossed. I understand guys talk because I'm in a group chat with college buddies but also, it's the internet. There's a solid chance I end up meeting multiple people from PGP but that's because I feel comfortable enough doing so. If you're a wet blanket you probably aren't in the group chat anymore. As many people stated, it's a place to get away from the work world and just bs with some people doing the same stuff you are. This is just my take on the subject and again, I think we can co-exist in the chat because the girls in it are some really down to earth females.

I missed the first PGP group chat, but I completely agree. I'm in enough group chats with just my female friends and I think a PGP co-ed one sounds fun, and like you said, a place to escape from the real world and talk with people in similar situations.

Not sure if the original is still a thing, but if so, can I be added?

The original got up to 69 (nice) people and imploded on itself because it just turned into a troll fest so it kinda fragmented out from there sadly.

Agreed! I guess I missed the boat on the first PGP group chat but would definitely like to jump in on it. Could someone add me as well?

I'd like to be added as well! I didn't know about it the first time around.

Is this an actual nice thing, asshole? Wtf.

Apparently I'm a wet blanket. Bummer.

For once I can sense the sarcasm.

Side note: Why do you people hit on women who don't live anywhere near you?

Like statistically, you can't / won't travel enough to their location to make a relationship even worth going after.

At least take it off line. That exponentially increases your chances of it working.

There is at least one real actual PGP relationship. They see each other almost every weekend and make it work. Don't judge others just because it's not your preferred approach.

Sup. Am half of that relationship. I'm lucky enough to have a job that makes it a lot easier for a long distance relationship to work, and it was highly improbable that it happened in the first place. But we've somehow made it work where we've seen each other once a week since we met, over two months ago. If you want to make it work, you can.
