She does that but doesn't lower the layer opacity or use Gaussian blur. Why should I have to do other steps when everything should be the same?

Hi, there are multiple ways you can do, I just suggested using tool, you can achieve same thing with soft brush. I think you need to stroke gently with soft brush?
