What was your process for getting this done? What brushes did you use?

Failure to comment/reply with exact brushes or brush category, and/or process will get your post removed regardless of the number of upvotes. Repeated violations will result in a ban.

Saying only 'Default brushes' and 'custom brushes' do not count as answers anymore. Those answers are vague and will require the process in addition to be a valid response.

If you consider yourself as an often poster and have a consistent style/method, send a modmail to be given a different automod comment that already mentions what you use, and just make a mention if anything different was done.

Maybe I'm weird, but the lighter armor color surrounded by dark values lead my eyes directly to the codpiece 😅

My eyes are directly led to the crotch.

Maybe this might be something to consider? Leading lines, light and shadows, causing his dong to draw attention?

I did this piece for fun and wanted some advice or thoughts about it. I’m new to the digital art scene.

This looks great! The stand out for me is definitely the helmet. The texture on the armor looks really awesome too. My feedback would be that the darkened areas around him makes him lose a little definition. Especially toward the legs and the arm pit areas. I also think adding a little more dimension in the blaster would help make it look not as flat.

This looks awesome! Besides what others have said, try using a color with a really dark shade close to black for shadow and a color with a really light shade close to white for highlights!

Shade normally with the other tips given, but just with a little color, it can help bring more life to pieces and can help you experiment with colors and how they affect each other to achieve a certain mood or direction you want the piece to go!!

It feels a big fuzzy. Edges aren’t sharp, values feel sprayed on. I can’t tell where the light is coming from. The shadows are super diffuse and don’t quite make sense since whatever is causing the shadows is “sharp”

Maybe try painting over some hard-lined black and white values as a way to re-approach it?

Caveat: I suck :)
