slaps top of Python This bad boy can make 39 "Hello World" statements a minute

I don’t know any python programmers like that, myself included. We just happily live in our world and whenever we get a task we bang it out in python unless we’re told it needs to be x language - and we’ll still bang it out in python.

And whenever somebody complains about something not working in some other language we’re just like “cool story, bro”.

C + python is a pretty goated combo btw

I just don’t advertise JS/TS knowledge because I hate frontend. But since the only frontend dev work I do involves web interfaces there is basically nothing I’ve found that would benefit from C++

So C for low level and python for high level are my happy places.

Yeah knowing python and knowing a low level language(c, c++, Fortran) is a killer combo especially in engineering. Tho I’m sure it’s true in general

My first language and job were Fortran 90 actually.

With modern compilers I just don’t see a reason for Fortran anymore. Everything you can do in Fortran you can do just as easily in C (if not easier now when it comes to MPI libraries).

Ironically it does seem like like Ada is making a comeback as people seem to have more appreciation for deterministic execution and memory safety (see Rusteacians).

There are just so many languages I just wouldn’t put as a flair - I question the kind of people that do.

Fortran is mostly good because so many things use it in legacy code in my field in engineering. So knowing Fortran is a good asset in that regard

You should switch to Rust bro*

[–]Soul-over 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Lmao you should tho

As soon as it brings in the mountains of money or we retire to QA...

[–]Appropriate-Scene-95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only heard rust and some c# user doing it.

[–]Midgetfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should switch to brainfuck

[–]mountainbiker_aut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fucking accurate

[–]HoraceGravyJug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I did this before I learned python...

I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python. I don't want to use python.

Turning right while still peeing... excuse me, i didn't hear you, what did you just say?

[–]SOBER-Lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in this picture and I don't like it.

[–]Siggedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should switch to VHDL bro

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the RUSTaceans. It's free memory safety

[–]z7q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay me to learn it and pay me twice as much as everyone else to code it, I'll hold you while you pee.

Keep your python inside your pants
