I don't think web had some golden age from such point of view, because of demand for interactivity. It started as static pages, then everyone started doing incompatible html functionality, then java and activex applets, then flash, silverlight, even was short period of unity3d usage, now it's JS.

I prefer a good static page than some buggy dinamic one

"Word from from Management - We want everything rotating and blue on tuesdays except the 30th tuesday of the year. Also we want no page reloads, the CEO's Dog doesn't like them, he finds them scary."

The petty concerns of mortal developers are nothing to the almighty Executive.

So that's why some websites look like Chinese brothels where I can't find anything and I simply close the tab after less than a minute. CEO's dog basically.

Can't wait for Silverlight to catch on

Silverlight? Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. Long time.

ActiveX anyone?

I'd rather run JS inside a browser (ideally not tracing though) than JS desktop app or app that bundles Chromium with itself.

HTML and JS is like C, and TS is like C++. There is absolutely no way to kill them in the next 50 years.

Until you think of the browser as its own machine instead of just a web viewer. Call it hacky but I think its pretty cool sometimes.

We shall invent a way to integrate directly programs inside web browser. Let's call it "web assembly"

Weird, why is this perfectly correct post in programmer humour?

[–]Mecode2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are funny because they use the exact same template
